In your opinion what are the 2 most violent religions and why.
I believe they are Muslims and Christianity.

I guess I should expand on it a little. Which religions followers are the most violet. I believe it is Christians and Muslims. Correct these are the two most popular. I am a Christian but I am apalled at what they have done to people who don't believe. Look at what they did to the American Indians, and anyone who doesn't belive from 400AD to 1900AD. Now look at a lot of the Muslims they want to kill everyone who does not believe the way they do. I have met Wiccans that were a lot more "Christian", than some Christians I know. Does That Help...

Wrong. None of the religion teach violence. Its the people who spread hatred and violence to promote their own agendas.

hard to say because I dont know much about any other religious history, other than christianity. I never grew up in a culturally dixerse atmosphere, and I dont know the history behind religion other than christianity. I would have to say from what I know that Christians may have not been the most violent through history but they are definitely at the top of the rank... some pagan religions were also very violent. The Myans sacrificed thousands or more to their gods... as well as the Aztecs. Its really hard to say when I dont know much about it but I believe you are right about christianity being at the top of the list. Considering the Crusades. The Witch Trials In England and Salem. Not to mention all the martyrdom and the fact that when christians first came to America they murdered many Native Americans. So yeah Christians/Catholics are at the top fo the list.

Well both of those religion originallu based on OT.
Islam is more peacefull than Christianity but its been interepreted by wrong ppl. Same as Christianity. Jesus was a democrat. But it took some bishops and idiots to interpret this into the violence.
Since this 2 religion are most popular that why we hear a lot about violence and i doubth many ppl even know the concpet of other religions to compare.
Right now we all screaming about Islamic terorrists but fw hundreds years ago Christians during spanish inquistion alone killed mroe ppl than all terrorist togheter in the past 200 years.
History has all the answers. We jsut manage to ignore it.
Therefore GOD and violence do exist.

I asked a similar question and got no answer. Now, what kind of violence? Aztecs were pretty bad. And Vikings had the whole war to heaven deal. And there are small wars fought everyday for small religions. Vodoo (dark arts deal, not normal Vodoo) can get violent. As far as Muslims and Christians being the most violent, well they both stem from the same tree......................... maybe they are just the loudest.
And notice how many answer this question with any religion but their own..........

Christianity is not a violent religion. It's what people do in the name of it that throws people view of it off. And its so sad that its being stereotyped because the people of old didnt know what they truly stood for. Jesus, the founder of christianity was totally against violence. he even went as far as to say those who live by the sword will die by it.

i think 1 is definitely Muslim (but not all Muslims) because i know
a Philippine pastor that had his church raided by muslims and they took a girl so he had to sneek into a muslim camp and save her! they also look for christians to persicute!

I will only say one. Atheism. There are more murders/assults/rapes/etc.. performed by those who do not believe in God than those that do.
