Well, I'd have to say yes, since god in Genesis and Exodus killed far more people than the US has in all it's wars combined.

wiregrassfarmer: In point of fact, rape is condoned by God several times. There is one instance where he actually says he will assist in raping all the women of Jerusalem. I don't know what Bible you're reading, but try these verses, then start asking some serious questions about what you are reading.
Exodus 21:7-11
Judges 5:30
Judges 21:10-24
Numbers 31:7-18
Deuteronomy 20:10-14
Deuteronomy 21:10-14
Deuteronomy 22:23-29
2 Samuel 12:11-14
Zechariah 14:1-2
Now, I'm going to paste in something I wrote a few days ago for you to think about. Clearly these women and girls were raped, all you need to do is read the text and understand the language, but what I ask you to consider are the circumstances.
As you read Numbers 31:7-18, imagine yourself as a 9-13 year old girl being held down while someone inspects you to see if your hymen is intact. To find out if a woman has slept with a man, the only evidence at that time was the presence of a hymen. The hymen is a fragile membrane in the vagina that protects the reproductive organs until they are mature.
Imagine the fear and humiliation of being a young girl forced to endure an inspection by a grown man who has just killed everyone in your town, then multiply that times a few hundred innocent little kids. Ask yourself how many female children died that day simply because they had torn their hymen in the course of play, or working to help support a poor family.
Imagine the terror of knowing that if you live, you will be raped by the men who killed your parents and destroyed your home.

He is not a war God! Men who do things outside the rules of war as outlined by the Geneva Convention are not Christian to begin with, so don't blame honest Christians or God! Without war, many things God promised His people wouldn't have been possible. There are things that men do that are terrible and tragic in the face of war, but those things seperate them from God in their sins. The Scripture teaches that "for he that KNOWETH to do good and DOETH IT NOT, the same is SIN!" Therefore, when "raping, bombing and pillaging" occur, these acts are done by men not led by God, but by their own selfish desire. Remember the story of Achan in the Bible? The children of Israel were at war (I can't remember if it were Midian or Ai they were fighting) and they were commanded to DESTROY everything in the enemy camp, even the gold and silver and the livestock, for these things were forsaken unto God and were cursed. Achan kept some clothing and silver and gold he found in a tent and hid it in his own. The prophets found out and when commanded of God, they destroyed not only Achan, but his wife and children as well, for the sin that was brought into the midst of Israel's camp. God ordained war to stamp out sin, not to "rape, pillage and bomb" at random.

The president is the one to ask this question. If he feels its Gods will, he should go to war. Raping and pillaging are a different thing. A very small amount of people do those things, and that's what gets reported. The good deeds and loving compassion hardly ever get reported on the news.

It doesn't matter if it is at war or as more often happens right here in our own neighborhoods. Rape, pillage, murder, lying, adultry, fornication continue endlessly. It is my personal belief that a 'true' Christian who has the Spirit of God living in him/herself cannot perfrom such acts whether in war or peace and if they do they have deep sorrow and regret.
The name "Christian" is too commonly used by 'church goers' or because they believe in God and that Jesus is His Son so be discerning. You will know a true Christian by his/her fruits. Anyone can spin. Look for the everyday actions.
All sins can be forgiven but repentance and sorrow must come first....not just some rote words of belief.

The answer is in the Bible. War was the answer of GOD. Just read How GOD gave Jews thier promissed land and what he command them to do to take that promissed land.
Cruisaides ( including the children one ,4th) War on femlaes, war on witches, war on nonbelivers. Of cause its all done from extencive feeling of GOD's love.
Christian GOD is not exactly only war god, its also a money making machine and power controling thing.
Therefore GOD and Love of him self do exist.

The Old Testament speaks to the OT warriors going to war and putting entire towns (men, women and children) to death. (Yes, I'm fundamentalist but I also study the Bible extensively). These instances were also on orders from God.
Rape was never condoned or required.
It's God's will that all come to Him. But it's also His will that we defend ourselves (Jesus was not a complete pacifist as He did instruct his followers to get swords).

Well considering the words you're using, i'd say you already have your mind made up.
In addition, it sounds like the "will of god" is from the Crusades.
I don't think any politicians will claim any of the current conflicts are acts of religion.

No there not. Unfortunately people use religion as an excuse for war. Once they're in the war they use free will to commit atrocities.

Not every soldier is a christian. If they are capable of rape, pillage, and the bombing of children, they are not real christians.
