I am an xray tech, and I also do MRI and CAT scans. There is no need to worry about not having children., He will be fine. In school, you are taught the proper precautions about radiation. Plus all of the walls (that he will stand behind) are made of lead. Xrays cannot penetrate lead. We also wear radiation monitors that record how much radiaiton he receives. If his levels get too high, he will be pulled from those areas for awhile. If he goes on to MRI, then there is no cause to worry. MRI uses a magnet, not radiaiton. MRI is safe even for pregnant women.Do not worry. He, and your future family, will be fine.

NOT true.

Radiology techs (everyone in the department even) wear radiation detectors that they have to turn in every week that monitor how much exposure they have to radiation. It's a state and federal law. Anything above a limit and they are yanked out of their job and the hospital is fined, big-time.

The walls of the rooms are lined with lead... the aprons are lead lined. It's all good.

Don't worry about it.

first of all, before one gets sterile due to exposure to radio active substances, it means one is actually careless about the processes involved in working with radio active stuff so i believe if he is the careful type u have no need to worry. if u think it is safe, u can get married to him and have children b4 he goes on or during his studies but if i have to give u an advice, let him do what he finds interesting to him and keep praying to Jesus, and he will help u.

unless he's gonna shine the x-ray machine on himself all the time he'll be fine. they wear shields and have to have radiation detectors with them

and MRI is a giant magnet so unless he shoots himself with dye a lot he'll be fine

There are so many precautions taken when people work around radiation. If you are that worried about it though, have him store sperm before he gets exposed.
