southwest air lines is cheapest. I only fly that one because of the rates.

I find Jet Blue to have the best deals if they fly to and from your destinations, since they are up and coming they still don't fly to all major cities/airports. The BEST and cheapest prices will always be offered on the airline's website directly not only for Jet Blue but for most airlines, I've compared prices from Orbitz.com and Cheaptickets.com and they were higher than Jet Blue directly, they have to in order to make thier money. The only way you save money with those third party sites is if you are booking hotel AND car AND flight all together.
Jet Blue is also comfortable they only have two rows of 3 seats with good leg room AND the most important feature DirecTV, it really helps make the flight go easier and faster cuz you got some good tv. The only thing that sucks are the "snacks", they literally give you like 3 crackers with some butter-cheese spread and a bag of chips OR some cookies but you can take your own food or snacks if it's a long flight for you.

For domestic or international? It really depends - almost all airlines offer discounted rates from time to time - depending on the season, the health of the travel industry, fuel prices, etc.

air asia is far more cost-effective than MAS... yet their service is worst than MAS.. been there few time.. undesirable journey with them.. their F/A are really fierce.. in her era perhaps.. so in case you desire a cheap airways yet can manage the 'difficulty' bypass with air asia.. yet in case you pick redefine luxury.. fly with us.. Malaysia airways..
