all i want to do is get bettter. i go to see my social worker next monday, im trying to write things down to say. im just wondering, even though ive not been diagnosed with anything even though ive had mental health problems since 15, im 29 now. if i think myself that i have high anxiety which dibilitates me, racing thoughts and forgetting, inner rage, exploding anger, and problems controling it, severe problems with my confidence. very bad panic attacks. if i think i have got this, or i know which i do, im wondering where i can go to to get help for myself, and how to get help? the procedures i should take? my moods are very low constantley, but my social worker is always saying stop concentrating on the negative & look how far youve come,& im tired of him saying this when i no i still got these problems. does anyone no what i can do and how i can get the help i need? and possible plan b's if plan a's dont work. i no this will be a long haul, but at this time i feel i need empowerment

You've been in the mental health system and not been diagnosed? Have you had testing? This is all anxiety mixed with depression. I do think you need to go to someone else. It
is not right, nor is it good that you have no diagnosis - they sound
like they are taking you! I would go to a community mental health center - have some bloodwork done & find a new psychiatrist, plus a new counselor. You social worker is quite out
of touch. Only a mental health professional can handle this type
of thing. did you know that depression is anger turned inward?
You need another counselor - I had the same thing happen to me
this idiot actually told me that I make myself upset!!! Give me a
break!!! I left his office, walked into his supervisors office and I
told them I was done with him. You have that right - you know?
You are the one in control of your situation - if you don't like him
give him the heave-ho! You don't need some imbissel telling
you to stop concentrating on the negative - how is that helping you? I see nothing positive here. The mental health facility I go
to has a sliding fee scale & it has some of the best people I have
ever saw. I am sure you can find someone to help you! I know
it! I did it! Some guys are not as open to you as women are.
I have a woman and she has been my counselor since 1997
I cannot tell you what difference it has made!
try this and see....

OK, as Sun Tzu wrote 500 years before Christ- "The first step in avoiding a trap is to realize its there".
Obviously you have some serious problems- thats the bad news. The good news is you've identified what those problems are. The next thing you need to do is write these down- and put them on a scale of 0 meaning "Once a week" and then 10 being "I constantly think about these items"
Make this list nice and clear, leave room for notes in the side margins- give this list to your Doctor and your Counselor.
What this will do is A)identify those problems that REALLY bother you and B)You can give these to a Doctor, who will either 1)Do more tests or 2)Prescripe medication to fix the symptoms- and keep with the talk therapy to monitor those med's to make sure their working.
Good Luck

It sounds like maybe your social worker isn't really listening to what your needs are. Maybe you should try to find other counseling. There are a lot of things you can research on the web, about depression and anxiety, bi-polar, everything, but don't self-diagnose yourself. You really need to try to see if there is someone you can see for an actual diagnosis, who can get you to therapy and maybe even get you on meds to help you out. If you feel your social worker is not helping out, try telling him what you need and want. Ask a lot of queastions and see if you still feel comfortable with his. There are state organizations, and local organizations that can help you get therapy. Overall, i think you should start by getting an evalution so that you can know for sure what it is you are trying to fight against. Once you have a diagnosis, you research about it and see what ways you can treat it. Start with counselling and see a doctor for meds if needed. Remember to always take it one day at a time, i noticed that if i try to make a plan then i only get more upset when the plan doesn't work, its better to take baby steps. Good luck!

I can empathize with you because I have many of the same problems. I finally went to the doctor and have been diagnosed with MDD (manic depressive disorder) and moderate anxiety disorder. Personally, I think your first step should be to go to a doctor, and explain everything you just did in this question.
You may or may not have a similar problem, but a doctor can help you decide what the best course of treatment including meds and possible psychiatric therapy. Right now I only take meds, but if things do not improve substantially by my next visit, my physician will be recommending me for a psychiatric evaluation to get right to the root of the problem.
The meds have helps, but not sufficiently and there are stronger meds that only a person trained in mental disorders can prescribe that may be more effective.
I applaud your desire to get better, and if you really want to, taking meds to help you will not be a problem for you. I wish you luck.

Talk therapy will not be the answer. Take up yoga and a movement practice like dance meditation. First just take a yoga class. Helps to get control of those things by getting you connected to your body. Really it will work for you. Take yoga now.

Just wanted you to know that someone's listening and that you're not alone. I wish and pray the best for you! Medication, exercise, travel, prayer, just doing one thing differently might make a small difference.

If you happen to be an ex drug user then I suggest taking vitamins eating right, and time, time, time,. (If you did use drugs at one time) it will take time to recover from all of the damage you caused yourself.
if you did not use drugs, i suggest taking b vitamins daily and before bed each night take a spoonful of liquid calcium with magnesium. You can buy it at you're local pharmacy.
