Let's see...when I was a teenager..that was when dinosaurs roamed hte earth! My father died when I was 11, so I wasn't a teen, but that was probably the biggest thing that everhappened in my life, excpet for having my own child when I was 26; also not a teenager...
I know that the biggest thing that happened to me was being discovered to be bright by a teacher when I was in the 9th grade and was placed with the kids who were not intellectually curious. He advocated for me and I was put in the classes witht he kids who were self-directed and motived, as I became. Maybe it was always in me, or maybe it rubbed off, but it was a great and important thing in my life.

I got a job and learned to budget my money. If there was something I wanted as a teenager, I worked for it and paid cash that way no one could ever take it away from me. Years later I bought a house, furniture, car, etc. and paid it all off. Was never late or behind on payments.

That's difficult, but I would have to say when I finally left an abusive relationship. I thought by giving and giving and doing all that he wanted he would be happy in this marriage; however, he had other wants and needs that were so overwhelming that I was swallowed up and almost lost my identity and self. He was a drug user, a con-man, a man who fathered children and left them.God literally spoke to me and woke me up making me realize that this would be my life if I chose to stay with him. Love does not always conquor all, sometimes you need to let go.

well i was a preteen and i got pneumonia (typo?)
and had to go to the hospital and the doctors there said that i had it really really bad and that it was in between my lung cavity and my rib cage i'll tell you that hurt so bad to breathe it's like i didn't want to breathe. they said i had to have surgery and in the beginning they said that my chances were really slim, but i came out of surgery and had this huge long tube stuck in the side of my chest to get the rest of the mucus out or whatever and i thought in the beginning that i wasn't gonna' make it but i did and it's b/c of all those great doctors and my church family that prayed for me that i got better

My first employer, he was a Doctor and he taught me that "can not" is not an option! If there is a will then by GOD find the way! I miss him very much, 20 years later!
