This middle-east war has been existed for a very long time. I'm wondering, who threw the first rock?

From what I remember from the History Channel, Israeli tour guides in the Holy Land, and a few books, the current conflict can trace itself back to the years immediately following World War II, when Jewish immigrants fleeing Europe smuggled themselves into the British Mandate (Palestine). The British tried to stop this at first, because thay didn't want to agitate the native inhabitats -- who might attack the British troups if the British allowed Jews from Europe to settle in Palestine. So various militant Jewish groups formed to carry out acts of terrorism (like the bombing of the King David hotel in Jerusalem which the British were using as a government building). The poor British were getting attacked by both groups, so they wanted out of the Middle East.

The United Nations tried to partition Palestine into a Jewish and a Palestinian state in 1948 as a compromise. After the British Army pulled out, the various Arabian nations in the area (including Palestine) immediately declared war against the new Jewish state and invaded. To everyone's surprise, not only did Israel win, but they conquered almost all of Palestine.

In the name of security, Israel deported the Palestinians who fought against Israel, seized their land, and sold it to Jewish settlers. From what I understand, one of the sticking points in the negotiations is whether Palestinians have the “right to return” (I.E.: Do the displaced Palestinian families get their ancestral land back, or at least get paid for it?).

The Jewish people will say that Palestine was their land originally, and that it was taken from them by force by the Roman Empire, the Arabs, and the Crusaders, and they have the right to take it back by force.

After WWII, under the Balfour Declaration, Great Britain ceded control of Palestine and the UN partitioned it into an arab area and jewish area. A coalition of Arab countries, mainly Egypt, Jordan, etc. attacked Israel. To put it bluntly, Israel kicked their butts. Ever since, they have all hated Israel. So, technically, the Palestiniansstarted the fight with Israel.

On a grander scale, the biblical book of Genesis contains a prophecy that there will always be fighting between the sons of Ishmael (arabs) and Isaac (Israelis).

Before 1947 (the creation of Israel) most of them lived in peace save for an occasional skirmish. The fight you are seeing now is the cause of the British who brought in Jews from Europe (to help them escape the ravages of Holocaust) and settled them in Israel. To do this, they displaced the Arab Muslims who were living there for centuries. The other Middle Eastern countries which say they support the Palestinians didn't offer land or support to the Palestinians at that time. It was only later that they did but it was not to help the Palestinians but to eradicate Israel because of their hatred of Jews (actually it was because they couldn't fight the British so they thought they could pick on the Jews and annihilate them. This is just a gist but it goes deeper than what I wrote.

It started when Great Britain and France divided up the land they controlled after World War I without much attention to tribal or cultural distinctions. They put people into one country who should have been in 3 or 4 or more different countries. They reserved a portion to be the Jewish homeland. Jews had been immigrating into the area since the 1880's.

There is a clear history in the URL below.

According to what I've read, when Israel declared itself as a nation, the other countries around them immediately declared war and vowed to destroy Israel. The Jews told all the Muslim residents to remain in their homes and that they would be Israeli citizens once the war was over but the Arabs told them to leave their homes and they could then return once they destroyed the newly formed nation. Many of the Muslims left expecting to return but since Israel defeated the Arab nations, they were left in refugee camps within the other nations. To this day their fellow Muslims will not allow the Palestinians to enter their countries and force them to remain in the refugee camps in the hope that Israel will one day be destroyed.

When the hebrew were seeking 'the promised land' after they were freed from Egypt they found that land to be where the conflict is now. The smaller group of hebrews won battles against the large palestenian armies to claim the land that palestine is fighting for now.

This war is thousands of years old.

That conflict is old, man! biblically old. I think it's very stupid and in my mind I pray for them to see the simplicity of the solution. I know this sounds inflamatory to some jews and palestinians, but the truth is that a never ending wart is not a good thing for anybody, no matter what reasons they put forth.

David Gruen (aka Ben Gurion) was thrown out of Palestine in 1915 for engaging in "nazi" activities.

He came to the US and enlisted Jewish support for his terrorist gang and returned to Palestine numerous times to launch terrorist attacks on Jews, Christians & Muslims living in Palestine.

Ben Gurion's Zionist thugs supported Hitler & the Nazis, and, in return, Nazi Germany helped Ben Gurion and his nazi thugs to evade British immigration limitations.

Ultimately, Ben Gurion become the leader of the thugs that launched a war that resulted in the (unlawful) creation of the "State of Israel" on Palestiniian territory in 1947.

That is how we got to here. Beginning around 1900, Zionists conspired to flood Palestine with millions of Jewish immigrants, many of whom were gangsters and terrorists.

And their descendants are still slaughtering non-Zionists to this day.
