I have been considering joining the military for some time now(3 years) but have not decided which one is better. I want to join the Air Force, but I am concerned about being sent to the war. I want to be able to join and then live the civilian life, like I see most military people doing. Anyone have any suggestions?

airforce, national guard/and or reserves they are what you call weekend warriors. Most of the jobs dont deal with direct combat. very few jobs are involved with combat but the few that volunteer are selected after a grueling course. CCT combat control team is what theyre called to my knowledge theyre the only ones that see combat aside the pilots.

If you are concerned about going to war then a military life is not for you. No matter what branch you join, even if it's just the National Guards, you have the chance of being sent to war.

My dad is an U.S. air force veteran and he truly loved where he was in life. He was a Tech Sergent; mostly, he worked on F-16 radar systems and made sure they worked properly. He never had to shoot anyone. After 20 years of service, he went to college and became a social worker. If you feel you would like to be in the military, I say Air Force. Our family is so proud of him.

Since I was in the Marines, this would be my order of selection:

1. Coast Guard
2. Air Force
3. Navy
4. Army
5 Marines

the Marines are the best. No service people live like civilians, but it is a good life.

Go Guard, either army or airforce, hell even coast, this allows you to serve the nation when it needs you, but live a normal civilians life when they dont.
