you're obviously going to the wrong church; full of rotting old crusty religious people. Not all Christians are like that.
the church is not a museum for saints, it is for everyone - even those people who sneeze. lol

What church do you attend? In my church, those close to me will whisper quietly God Bless You. I don't get the "dreaded STINKEYE." You might want to look for a more tolerant church.
If the people attending that church will glare if you sneeze, hiccough or cough in the sanctuary, I hesitate to think what they will do in the parking lot on the way home.

When you are in a religious place you are expected to meditate, when you sneeze or hiccup, people get disturbed, that is why they give the stinkeye

well, to tell you the truth, i think God understands and does not find a sneeze or hiccup disrespectful, just part of the human he created....therefore, who cares what everyone else thinks, how ridiculous for people to even notice, why aren't they paying attention to the sermon? i like Cher's philosophy...."I answer to two people, myself and God", i think that is a pretty cool way to think and as far as i can tell, pretty much true. so go to church and sneeze if you need to and also hiccup, man, there is no way to control some bodily functions! i think it's great you are in church in the first place!!! good for you...

I never get a "stinkeye"....
How many times are you sneezing or hiccupping?
If it becomes a distraction you get up and vacate so as to not disturb others.
If it's just once or twice you shouldn't be getting any bad looks.

It really is no different than being in a movie theater and the same thing happens. To some it could be an interruption of their interpretation of the message being preached. Those people probably do not think that you should clap your hands, shout Amen, or dance in the Spirit either.

Hmm that's weird. It is a normal thing and if people are giving you odd looks they need to lay off. Some people who don't understand church life and religion sometimes act in an over-respectful manner which isn't really called for.

LöL they are for sure serious in that church because in the church i was attending, even if you snort no one would mind but a heartful giggle might be given and i think nothings wrong with that. people should always see the bright side on things and not be scary.

As long as you say Excuse me, what is the big deal? C'mon it is a normal thing. If they have a problem with this, tell them to deal With God and ask him why he made these bodily functions. People get me sick!
