How to Avoid and Cure Pimples
Pimples are a pain, so here are some tips to help you avoid getting them.

Steps
Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water each day.
Wash your face twice a day (once in the morning and once at night). Do not wash more than 2-3 times, because this will dry out and irritate your face.
Keep your hair out of your face. If you have bangs, pull them back with a headband or clip. The oil from your hair can cause pimples on your skin.
Put ice on your pimples for 30-60 seconds every two hours. This will reduce the redness and make your pimples less visible.
Toothpaste works for some people, too. However, it dries out your face.
If you have a lot of pimples, use a medicated cream. Also, use a toner and moisturizer to make the process faster.
Change your pillowcases at least once a week, because oil and dirt will gather on them. When you sleep, the oils and dirt will spread to your face.
If you have pimples on your body (such as your back), get a body wash that will also treat your pimples.
Many people do see pimples in unlikely places as a result of eating chocolate. Test yourself by removing chocolate from your diet completely, then eating a couple of pieces when your skin is relatively clear. Test again another time.
Alter your diet. Eat less fast food and milk products, and eat more vegetables and other healthy foods.
Don't touch your face; this might aid in dirt build-up that contributes to acne.

Some good info here, however I've used just about everything! Retin-A, other creams...tetrocyclene (sp?) even dangerous meds like accutane...Stay away from it!

What worked best was the most simple solution, and most cost effective.

Get yourself a flat loofa sponge, ($5 give or take) and witch hazel... it's dirt cheap! $1 or a dollar and change. (Both found in any supermarket / drugstore. Once in the AM & once at night apply the witch hazel to the sponge and using long vertical strokes go from the sides of your fact all the way down your neck. Do your forehead and other body parts seperately.

Simple, and effective. I've had no problems with my skin drying out, and if so, just use a facial cream, nothing oily of course.

I also strongly recommend Biore's Ice cleanser / blemish fighter. It's a fantastic product!

I use the Clear Skin Regimen at http://www.acne.org. It's a non-profit (so it's free), the guy who created used to suffer from pimples himself. The system works wonders on my face, and its helped countless other people. The best part is that you don't have to order or buy any expensive treatments, everything you need for the Regimen can be found at your local drugstore. Find out more at the website.

In general, for clear skin it helps if you: don't touch/pick at your skin, drink lots of water, wash your hair frequently, change your pillowcases, exercise, wear little make-up (or if needed, hypo-allergenic makeup), and minimize stress.

Another tip is to look up online consumer reviews of acne products before you buy them, using sites like epinions.com or drugstore.com. A great website I use to get cosmetic reviews is makeupalley.com (A mostly women's site). Hope this helps!

Wash your pillow cases and make sure you are washing your scalp when you wash your hair. I notice that I will break out in those same spots when I need to wash my pillow cases. The best thing for me for breakouts is baking soda. Put a bit in your hand or on a wash cloth, add a few drops of water til it's a paste and wash your face with it. It exfoliates and the baking soda loosens out the dirt and kills the bacteria. A great mask with the baking soda is to mix equal amounts of baking soda and orange juice together and slather it on your face, leave on for twenty minutes (it will tingle a bit) then rinse off. I do it whenever I start to break out and it clears everything up. The orange juice has vitamin C which brightens skin and tightens pores.

First of all avoid taking oily foods which are the main cause of pimples. Regularly wash your face with some light and gentle soap or face wash that suits you after every 4-6 hours. Drink plenty of water. Never peal your pimples.

eat better, drink more water, exercize, wash your face

pimples are due to hormonal imbalances so if you get your system in top shape you shouldn't have a problem.
If that doesn't work you may just have to wait it out, but being healthy and washing your face can never hurt.
