I see no reason not to name a Great Dane Darth Vader. You could train the animal to use a light sabre and guard your property. May the force be with you.

Wow..., I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I ADORE Darth Vader and I'm definetily not into dogs.....
But I think yours is a good idea!, I agree with those who tells you to call him Vader only, maybe not Anakin because is Vader the one who wears the black suit, not Anakin.
Vader will do, I think.

It sounds awkward. Here Darth Vader Vader Vader....
If you really want to name him after the Dark Lord of the Sith, name him Anakin.

People might think you're being too cute, but give it a try (most people are unaware of the origins of Darth Vader anyway)

Lol, sounds great. A little long to yell out the back door, but you could always just nickname him Vader or something.

Yeah it sounds like a cool idea. And I agree with the other response, it is a little long and if I were you I would just call him Vader.

The name should be mono-syllabic for ease of training! "Vader" might work. Remember to choose something you wont be afraid (embarrassed) to shout at the top of your lungs in a public park!!!
