Quite a few of the founding fathers were deists, agnostics, and atheists. And that's just one way to show that the US was not founded on Christian principles. "In God We Trust" was not added to the pledge or money till after the founding (1950s). And most if not all of the founding fathers were masons...they even laid foundations for the white house according to star charts...and there are many other masonic symbols around DC (see source).

It was not founded on Christian principles. George Washington was a Mason. Ben Franklin was a Diest (Christian Ministers of that time called him an Atheist). Many founding fathers were Christian, but many were also Jewish. Most felt that their beliefs shouldn't interfere with government. When pressed about another person's faith, Ben Franklin said,"It neither picks my pocket, nor breaks my leg." George Washington wrote many letters to the Jewish community praising the new government framework built on reason so that all faiths were safe. Every state that set up religious tests for government office eventually had to remove them. And, fyi, Catholics were lumped in with Pagans as far as the majority Evangelicals were concerned!

Man, you need to read up on your history. You'll never get a definitive answer to any question on YA. I'll give you a hint though. Our European ancestors left England so they could worship how they wanted. (Or not at all, if they wanted). And walla, Through the grace of God, their prayers where answered.
American is the greatest melting pot of religious beliefs than any other nation. Predominately Christian, I might add...but religion is a choice. Most Choose Jesus.

Christianity? Jesus? Dying?
What is the Imacculate Conception supposed to mean?
(NOT A VIRGIN BIRTH! - betcha never knew that.)
Jesus, the basis of Christianity? .
If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.
Gods do not die? Do they?
If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?
Did Jesus give up Saturday for us? Big deal!
If Jesus died for our sins, there should not be any more sins, else why go through with it?.
If Jesus really DIED, he should be dead, dead, dead!
If you swallow this stuff, you are not going to like the folks who don't. You want them to swallow it too.
Christians want everyone to convert to their non-thinking in order to be 'saved'.
Believing and not thinking is like choosing a mental illness and becoming lost.
What is a Christian Principle?

It was founded on hypocrisy. The only ones who got 'freedom' after putting their loved ones lives at risk by going to war (when no one was at risk) were white males. It's as hypocritical as one can get.
