A dollar amount please, not like 2% of my income (cuz I don't know what you make nor do I want to do math and figure it out)

I give nothing, which is a fair price.

You know how you see others put money into the collection bowl and you kind of feel obligated to? Well I have a great system to avoid that. Don't go to church at all. Do something constructive with your life such as charity work.

Update: Wow I am amazed at how many idiots are giving 10% of their income. Even people that are earning right around the poverty line are giving 10% away. That is just about the stupidest thing I have ever heard!

as stated before it says in the bible, Nehemiah 10:38 (New International Version)

38 A priest descended from Aaron is to accompany the Levites when they receive the tithes, and the Levites are to bring a tenth of the tithes up to the house of our God, to the storerooms of the treasury.

From that verse, it says to give 1/10th or 10% of your income to the house of god. So depending on what you make in a month, you are to take 10% of that (ie. if you make $5000, you give $500 back into the church) if you struggle with math, just round what you make to the nearest 10 or 100 dollars and move the decimal place one space to the left.

Well im sorry if you dont want the percentages BUT the correct answer SHOULD be 10% of your earnings that week. Thats tithing.......although everyone (including myself) doesnt always follow the rules so in that case it just depends on whats in your pocket.........As a kid it was 25cents or 50cents as an adult its 1dollar or more.......I usually try to go for atleast 5 dollars but hey sometimes if a dollar is all you got the lord will still acknowledge your dollar and you just pray on your finances that one day you will be able to pledge the tithe God really deserves..........

God loves a cheerful giver so he'd rather you be happy in giving your dollar than griping about that 40 or 50 bucks you'd rather be spending somewhere else......So remember be happy in your offerings whatever they may be with hopes that one day they will be blessed to be more :)

Hope that helped...............Have A Blessed Day :)

If you are asking how much you should give that is up to you to decide. Offering should come from the Heart, How ever much you feel you should give this should be a offering of love not of quilt. tithes is 10% that is if you make 100 dollars 10% would be 10 dollars.
Now if you are asking what i give in a dollar amount that is between God and I and you should only be concerned with your self and if your gift is not given in love God doesn't want it keep it this should always come from the heart.

According to the bible we are to give 10% of our first fruits. I tithe exactly that...so it would be $350 a month. Plus we give extra here and there for certain things...like $20 here for the building fund or $50 here for missions. Last year we gave $50 a month every month on top of the $350 for a whole year. We are not to go bragging or boasting about what we give...it is supposed to be done in secret, but you don't know me so...
The money goes to wonderful things to further the Kingdom of God, it goes to the hungry, it goes to missionaries, it goes to pay the bills and utilities of the church, it goes to pay the church staff, it's all to further the Kingdom of God. It's wonderful way to give back when your getting so much support and growth from your church you give back.

I give what the THE LORD leads me to give.
NO MORE TITHING! Thats for the Temple - and now
WE ARE THE TEMPLE!

A church that is still Tithing is under the impression that Christians

are still under the Mosaic Laws!
2 Corinthians 9: 7 " Each man decided

in his own heart to give....."

We used to give $15 each week. Then the church started coming up with all these separate collections for side-causes. It eventually became ridiculous and thats why we quit attending church.

It really depends on you. How much are you willing to give to God as a thank you for the job that he has provided you. There is no wrong answer to this question. The Bible does say 10% of what you make so if you made $10,000 you would give $1,000 back to God. Give whatever you heart tells you to give. If your making lots give a bit more. Ask your heart.
