No. God can overpower the devil in any way at any time. He gives us the free will to choose who wins in our lives. Also, most bas things come from us, not directly from the devil. Our greed, lust, hatred, and, most of all, apathy cause most of the problems we face. The devil merely plays upon those base desires and tells us that there is no harm in it or if it feels so good, how can it be bad? So we do things that we shouldn't and pay the consequences.

You're going to look like a total freaking idiot on judgment day. Of course you'll end up in heaven, because you'll repent for your sins before then. (Remember the first will be the last and the last will be the first) You are heading toward that path as I write, your curiosity of the Lord makes it clear that you very much want to become a believer, and are searching desperately for his love. I see you just need constant reassurance from the Christians to take the final step.
Anyway, back to judgment day. We're all standing around with awe at the spectacular sight of God...and here is Mark, just Shitting his pants...thinking.....oh God, I hope you don't remember what an @ss I made out of myself on Yahoo Answers.

Nope.
Every good thing that happens comes from God. Correct.
Every bad thing that happens comes from the Devil, or from free-will, or due to our sinful nature (Now it is correct)
God knows everything, is the biggest power in the universe, but allows us to choose to follow him or the Devil. (Now it is correct)
Those are now true statements.

No way, the devil can influence you but you choose what to do. If you commit a sin then you chose to. Some "bad" things are the natural consequences of our actions. Do you blame someone else when you touch fire and get burned or do you blame yourself? God has already defeated the devil and he knows this. He just wishes to mislead as many people as he can.

Go back to the books and try living more in tune with God. I think you worry too much. All you have to do is be to others as good as you want others to be to you. Thats a good start. That notion that there is like a bet or a race between God and the devil is a waste of time... and brain cells.

Not straight yet. Good and bad things comes from God in accordance to His will (the story of Job), only bad things comes from Satan. Both good and bad can come from our free will, depends on our choosing power and what we chooses affects or might affect others. Say for example, a man beats his wife and she chose to leave him, shall he blame God that his wife left Him? Anyways, God already won the battle and it's when He was in the human flesh (meaning Jesus' death and resurrection) if you'll read revelations you'll see what will happen.

God is the Best Knower and Provider.. He gives and He takes. He blesses and chastises. I belive that the devil lives within, As well as the Lord... she the Lord does not make you smoke crack, does not make you a rapist.. does not make you a criminal or sinner.
But He will temp you, to try your faithfulness and love... God tries us by the things we like and love.. not by what we dislike... You yourself know if is wrong to sin, you yourself know the difference between right and wrong. When a obstacle/delimea is presented to you the Lord will let you make a decision.. when you pray he offers insite.. but most of us are to wrapped up in what we want we are unaware of what GOD is trying to provide for us. So, we choose to take the wrong road and that is when the devil gets his chance. The presence of wrong doing causes evil to arise and bad decisions to be made.
With Faith, Trust, Honesty and Love............... GOD will provide. HE is the winner today, tomorrow and yesterday.... and will always be!

no youre wrong and win what? everything belongs to God and the devil can only do what God allows him to do. The devil suggests but cannot make you do anything, hence the free will.

He has already won! The devil is a defeated foe! We are just playing out the final acts of the final drama. Sort of like a mop up operation.

It isn't that he can't :win" over the devil, but that he allows man to choose for himself a path of evil or path of righteousness.
If you do not love God without being forced to do so, how could it be called real love?
