Your question is somewhat rhetorical. Most of your low to mid-range digicams use a Charge Couple Device or CCD sensor. This is the older technology which is slower and drains more battery power. A high-end digicam or DSLR utilizes a Complimentary Metal Oxide Semiconductor or CMOS which is faster and is easier on your batteries and produces higher resolution images. But even with a CMOS sensor, digital images that are composed in perfect focus are inherently a tiny bit dull if you will. That is to say that any image, whether taken with a CCD or CMOS sensor will require a small degree of post processing on a computer using something such as Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. By adjusting the sharpness in small increments, you will immediately see huge differences in your images. Happy shooting!

My Canon PowerShot A400 is very very impressive: not as many mpxls as you'd like, perhaps ( I think mine cranks out 4), but WOW! The whiz-bang clarity and perfect color quality!!!

I really feel I got one of those, rare one-better than the other same models of camera!
