Start with the courts. Try to get your records unsealed if they still are. After that check out the adress given on the records. If they have moved ask people in the area. They might still keep in touch or know where they moved too. Check out people sharing the same last name in the city. It could be family.
There are adoption messageboards with people that can help you. Be aware there are a lot of scams out there. Try to free route as far as you can. Ask your adopted parents if they have any clues, if they are unwilling to help then check out old boxes in the basement, it might hold something. Same goes for hospitals. Find out who was born on the same date, same hospital as you were. Old nurse or retired doctors also.

The Mormons have a good site for this. You list your details ands if your birth mom WANTS to get in touch with you,she can.Or you could go to the capital city of the state where you were born and ask to see your records. Many states have opened these files now.

Have you tried the Church of Latter Day Saints? http://www.familysearch.org ?
They maintain the largest source of geneological records that I am aware of. It surprised me about my own history.
