The reason I ask is because somebody on this board, who will remain nameless, said that they dont mind talking to Christians, but not Christian Fundamentalist. What's the difference in your opinion.

I personally don't accept other religions as "truth" but I tolerate what others beleive. I don't bash, but I also hold strong beleifs, such as being against gay marriage, abortion, sex before marriage, ect. Does that make me a fundamentalist in your eyes. Thanks for the information. I'm not looking for rude answers. This is a serious question.

True Christians (Followers of Jesus) are Fundamentalists.
They believe the Bible to Be the Literal, True Word of God- nothings needs to be added or taken away. It sounds like you are a Fundamentalist. I am, too.

I am a Christian and far from being a fundamentalist. Fundamentalist take the word of the Bible literally. Meaning, if it says "Then the sky turned purple" they would literally think the sky turned purple for no apparent reason.

But there are Christian in the world that do not take the Bible so literally. Some of us accept all others (Well, except child molesters. Ew!) My Christian friends and I accept homosexuality as a normal part of life. We don't think you have to press your faith on others, but we're willing to share.

In my honest opinion, I think many fundamentalist miss the message of the Bible because they are so focused on the literal word. Jesus tells you to LOVE each other, not judge. It's a difficult task - much easier to love than judge - but that what I think.

Here is my definition of a Christian. A Christian is a person who believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for the remission of sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. Accepts Him via baptism for the remission of sins, and lives like Him on a daily basis. That is my definition of a Christian. For a definition of a Christian fundamentalist, see the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fundamentalist_Christianity

What this person is saying is that he will talk to someone who is not familiar with one's faith and that he is too spineless to take the fight to someone who is educated enough to defend his faith such as that of a radical Christian... such as a fundamentalist.

i think a fundamentalist pushes his beliefs on someone else
well i dont have a problem with you thinking homosexual marriage is wrong a lot of christians think that, but if you think it should be illegal and the reason you think it should be illegal is your bible then yes that is pretty fundamentalist.

Fundies claim to take every word in the Bible literally (even though they don't).

Regular Christains aren't quite as deluded, and can accept that some of the Bible is made up of stories with morals.

call me crazy but i think it makes you a religion right wing wacko. I don't understand how someone can pick and choose what they want to believe and what they don't want to believe from a religion. believe it all or nothing. you say you don't accept other religions as truth. so your saying the religion you believe is correct and the whole world is wrong? religious people are nuts.
