They live in fear. They cannot convert or leave the religion. That is why I think it is the worst, most oppresive religion on earth. I had a friend that truly believed his parents would kill him if he ever left Islam. Its really scary and I feel so sorry for those people.

I suppose christians think the muslims are all going to hell for not accepting Jesus as their personal lord and savior. Christians have no compassion or understanding of anyone but themselves sometimes. Also you should never talk to a Muslim about these things. They will not talk to you. They fear punishment just for discussing it. You may actually put them in danger. Don't expect any to honestly answer this question.

I don't know a single case of a Muslim who left Islam and been killed for that in the last 100 years at least, does any body know a case and give us a reference? I my self don't think any person who really knew and tasted Islam will ever leave it what ever happened to him, but yes some born Muslims who never had the chance to learn Islam and live it may convert.

not unless his family stones him.. The family usuall declares any family member dead to them who converts and they hold a funeral and there was a man who converted and they were going to kill him for it but he got off. Anyone converting would be wise to leave town. but they have everlasting life and a peace that their family will never know.

Quran 2:256

Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects Evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

The BIBLE:

(2 Thessalonians 2:3 NASB/WEY).

"Let no one in any way deceive you, for that day cannot come without the coming of the apostasy first, and the appearing of the man of sin, the son of perdition."

Deuteronomy 13:6-10:

If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which [is] as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; [Namely], of the gods of the people which [are] round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the [one] end of the earth even unto the [other] end of the earth; Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: BUT THOU SHALT SURELY KILL HIM; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt STONE HIM WITH stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

(Joshua 6:20-21)

Joshua son of Nun wished to enter Palestine with his people. So he encamped around the city of Jericho and commanded the people to blow their horns. "As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people raised a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. Then they utterly destroyed all in the city, both men and women, young and old, oxen, sheep, and asses, with the edge of the sword "

I suggest you refer to the following work: Yahiya Emerick's The Complete Idiot's Guide to Understanding Islam 2nd edition. It should be available through your local library system or bookstores or you can order it online from Amazon.com.

There is no compulsion in the religion; Truth stands out clear from error; so whoso disbelieves in idols and believes in God, has laid hold of the most firm handle, which cannot break; and God is Hearing, Knowing.
Al-Quran (2:256)
