Once a Government Headstone is ordered for a deceased veteran buried in private cemetery, how long does it take for the marker to come in?

I work for a Division of Veterans Affairs in NC. It usually takes around a month to get the marker. I have a 1-800 # to the Department of Veterans Affairs Cemetery System if needed.

Ask your Veteran Affairs Officer in your county.

It took about a month for our family. Try calling the mortuary. They will be better informed on that.

forgive me for not having the answer, but I recommend cremation.
