Signs and symptoms of gallbladder problems can include fever, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, chills and shaking, chest pain under the breastbone, abdominal fullness and gas, and abdominal pain. Abdominal pain can be severe, located on the right side (right upper quadrant) or in the upper middle of the abdomen, may subside over 12 to 18 hours in uncomplicated cases, may be recurrent or with similar pain in past, occurs following meals, worsens during deep inspiration, radiates to the back or below the right shoulder blade (right scapular area)and worsens after eating or drinking greasy (high fat) foods or fluids. If you feel this fits your symptoms, please see your doctor.

Symptoms of acute cholecystitis (acute inflammation or infection of the gall bladder) are:
persistent pain
a temperature of more than 12 hours duration
pain and tenderness under the ribs on the right side
pain is worse if you move or cough
jaundice (yellow skin and yellowing of the whites of your eyes) can occur if left untreated
you may or may not have gallstones
So, to answer your question, yes, it can make it hurt to breathe. Please be aware that the normal "profile" for a person with gallbladder problems is the 3F's: female, fat and 40. However, this does not mean that others can't have gallbladder disease.

My husband just had his out so here are the signs he had. Pain in front and all the way to the back on the right hand side near the rib cage. It did hurt him to breathe and when touched it was very sensitive. Go to the doctor... it's not fun to mess with. Does it act up worse after eating? I never thought it would happen to younger people but while I was at work the other day, a father and his daughter were in my line and she was 16 and had hers taken out a week before. Ya never know unless you get it checked out. Good luck and take care.

I had gullsones and I wouldnt wish them on my worst enemy. Was told by the Dr that at the age I was it was very unusual for people to get problems although it can happen. Started with my back thought it was plurisy tightening of the muscles, then went to my stomach. I would wake up in the middle of the night in hot sweats and not be able to relax or get back to sleep. Would try warm bathes and as long as the water stayed at that temperature I was alright. It got so bad that it hurt to stand or sit went to the emergency room and found out that I had 15 gullstones and now I dont have a gullbladder due to me not catching it soon enough. I would recomend that you go see a Dr asap as a gullbladder is nothing to take too lightly when it starts acting up it could be a number of things and if caught soon enough they may be able to stop it without surgery. Good luck
