I have a darker shade of brown hair and I got very subtle highlights that have the tiniest bit of a burgundy tint to it - let me tell you, when I step into the sunlight, I have the coolest hair on the planet - so many people have complimented me... Otherwise, caramel highlights are also cool.

If you have dark hair, don't go for blond highlights. They look unnatural, and they fade to that awful orangutan orange color. Go for reddish highlights that will accent the brown tones in your hair. Nothing too light, remember you're not blond, and most brunettes don't look good as one!

Honey? I am a really dark brunette almost black but the fact is, that red highlights tend to look really brassy towards the ends. I would say if you are a dark brunette, don't highlight. You don't need to. Brunette is one of the most beautiful colors of hair that have ever been created. You are lovely as dark as you can get it without red and without highlights baby. You rock. Your brains speak louder than your hair. LOl! :)

well I also have brown hair and the only highlight color that you can put in your hair is blond. blond is the best color for brown hair and if it faded than do it again. if you want a different color than dye your hair.

If your hair is a lighter brown, try a honey colored highlight. My sister (she's a stylist) put some great honey color highlights in my hair and I got a ton of compliments.

Personally, I don't like "fake color". I have natural highlights so I am half blond, half brown, and a really little bit black. It is really weird. But If you already have blond I would go for a redish. It would really be cool.

It depends on your natural skin tone and your natural highlights. I generally go towards reddish browns because of the color of my hair, and it just makes it pop. Some people can can go with certain shades of reds like Auburns and coppers, so go to your stylist and have her recommend something to compliment your natural highlights and skin tone.

I have pretty dark brown hair and recently put in caramel highlights. I think the colors really complement one another. When in doubt, ask your stylist.

Try a nice shade of pink. I am a brunette too ( as you can see) and I have pink colors and I have alot more colors though. I have yellow, blue, pink, and red. So I reccomend he pink or the blue. They show up on my hair whan I use them. Good luck with it all because I know that style problems may be tough!
