agnosticism is intended to mean that it is impossible to know if a god exists or not and therefore the person chooses to, what quite a few refer to as, sit on the fence.
Agnostic is without knowledge
Gnostic is with knowledge
I doubt there are very many true fence sitters concerning if a god exists or not. If someone doesn't' believe in god they are an atheists...if they sway closer to thinking there might be a god they are a theist. Most people are probably agnostic theists or agnostic atheists.

An Atheist would generally say that there is no evidence which supports the idea that a god exists, and there is plenty of evidence to explain how things came to be WITHOUT having to resort to the supernatural for an explanation; therefore, no god exists.
An Agnostic, on the other hand, would say that there is insufficient evidence to DECIDE whether a god exists.
For the Atheist, then, "the case is closed."
For the Agnostic, "the jury is still out."

Everyone is an agnostic if we use the "cannot know" definition used by agnostics as their excuse for being wimps & pansies.
Girls are excluded because we know they are indecisive and can't make up their minds.

if u tell a xtian ur agnostic he'll tell u ur going to hell anyway so you may as well be an atheist and have a spine. u boys can keep ur balls. i know u love to play with them.
