More than one might immagine.
I've been several times in India and once I took my children (15+16 years old then) with me to show them that to be happy and - more important imho - to be content isn't depending on how much one possesses.
One evening I went with them to the poorest of the poor, those who really have nothing, nothing, nothing. And I told my children to have a close look at the mood of these people.
Both where and are still impressed - so many laughing, so many smile, so many kindness, friendliness ...
These people wakes up happy in the morning, and there are many of them ! We all should learn, that happiness, contentedness doesn't depend on what we have, what we "are".
I'm hopefully on the way to take that in for me too.

I always wake up happy and say happy until I come on to this site.
Then I get angry at all the moronic silly drivelling questions and bad spelling especially those people who can't even spell 'morning' properly. Have a nice day.

I did not use to, but now I do. I've tried to live through my spiritual and not my mental perspective and that has made all the difference. I also try to think globally and outwardly, not selfishly and locally. When I handle my business, pay my bills, treat others with peace, et cetera, that peace guarantees I wake up ... happy and joyful but most of all grateful.

Well, that all depends what day it is, but usually I wake up shattered in the morning. I go to bed too late and get woken up by bouncing children at 6am. That's a bad combination, believe me.
