Take it to a vet. He or she will help you decide what to do. This bird is probably in terrible pain. you should not continue to keep it in a box and hope it gets better. It's wing will never heal right unless its set and it might never be able to fly properly so it might never be able to survive in the wild again. This is not something you are qualified to determine, you really need to talk to a vet. If its wing can be repaired with out much pain, it will probably get dependent on people so will not be able live in the wild. It might be able to go to a wildlife rescue and live the rest of its life. It really might need to be put down. Imagine if you were walking around with your shoulder completely crushed. Do you really want to save this birds life by keeping it in terrible pain?

You are not doing the bird any favors by "testing" how well he feels by getting him out of the box to hop around.
You should take him to a wildlife vet or call a vet to see where to take him.
The heavy breathing is for two reasons, pain and fear. The creature is hurting, bet on it and now it's got to worry about being eaten by you, a predator ( in it's eyes). I've been in your situation too many times and have realized that a lethal injection is sometimes the best course. Take it from one softheart to another, in the long run it's harder on you but better for the bird.

First try to find bird people in the local area.
If you can not find people to help you then you will need to take to a vet. This will cost you! Have the vet xray the wing and ask to put a splint on the wing if it can be repaired. Find as much on the bird as you can. What it eats, ect. This could take a few weeks of care from you before it mends. Good luck!!!

If the vet or no one you know who has experiance with birds will not take that poor little bird in, treat it the best you can. Wrap the wind in some cloth, and get a good amount of healthy food for it to eat. Please, try to take care of it. If it dies with you takeing care of it, you know it would not have suffered by getting eatin or getting attacked. But if it survives, let it go and then just move on with your wonderful live.

This has got here about to me many situations. I actual have had birds considering i replaced into little, truly, do not attempt to tape it, or make some type of brace for it until eventually you understand what you're doing. you could both, a) take it to a vet or puppy rescue center or b) keep the poultry for a lengthy time period until eventually it really is wing seems extra acceptable, yet, if you're going to attempt this, the poultry would get less than pressure out in a cage because it really is a wild poultry, that may carry about a achieveable heart attack or panic attack. attempt to feed the poultry belongings you'll locate outdoors, like nuts, products of bread, etc. yet do not attempt at hand feed the poultry, it really is going to mistake you for attempting to attack it, merely placed the nutrition in a bowl or some thing. also, in case you'll keep it for a lengthy time period, attempt to keep it delicate, calm, and provides him somewhat time and area to regulate for a lengthy time period. and counting on the poultry's length, it will be a cage that matches it really is length, do not attain into the cage, it really is going to freak out the poultry. attempt to keep it far flung from different birds and provides it the least actual contact to yourselves, it may bypass on fleas, ailments, or attack different birds yet what i'd do is seek for specialist help, to do what's amazing for the poultry

Do a search for "bird rescue" in your city and state. There are usually a lot of different organizations out there. Maybe a different one will help.

take it to the vet!!!!!!!!!! or if its a wild bird then take it 2 fish and wild life. but if you call them they will most likley tell you to let it die or something. so its best you take it in and MAKE them fix it/. if it has to go through surgery and then they tell u the bird didnt "make it" it means they put it to sleep cuz they didnt want to deal with it.
