Depends on a lot of factors - how long have you known this guy? How well do you know him? Did he offer to pay your way? Did he invite you to visit? If it were me, I at least would have traveled with a friend or two for a first meeting like this. While I applaud you on your bravery and gusto - logically and safety wise - that was a dumb thing to do.

You could have endangered yourself yes, but you don't know that for sure. Meeting on the internet isn't all bad, depending on who you meet. My best friend met her match online and they are doing great so far, but my brother met a girl online and found out she wasn't at all who she says she was and was married with kids (she sent him pictures of someone that wasn't her and also said she was single and no kids) and they talked for awhile. I would suggest keeping your meetings to a public place and not going anywhere private until you really get to know this person. Also, next time you two meet up, same public deal in your territory!

Firstly if you are going over there MAKE SURE you meet in a very public place. Do not stay with him especially on the first night, tell friends and family where your going atr least..
He could be a freak or perfect you will just have to find out just be carefull for your own sake . dont be stressing you obviously get on well so hes prob cool so relax but just be carefull

I'll start by telling you I'm pretty adventurous... and want to think the best of people.
but...
Let him come to you.
You could be setting yourself up for who knows what. You could be endangering yourself. If he's interested, he'll make the trip and then you have much more control.
If you're feeling confused, then that little voice inside you is telling you what you need to do. :)
Stay home.
(and I hope he books his ticket soon!!!!) :)

Its just one of those situations that you won't know until you get there..personally I would have made him come and see me here in the states...I don't think that I would have gone that far..but you know one of my friends lived here in Texas, and now she lives in New Jersey and is happily engaged with a guy she met over the internet. Best of luck to you.

I think that's a little extreme. But some people meet online and fall in love forever. Some are disappointed. You should have made him come visit you.

i would NEVER EVER EVER FOR $6 MILLION DOLLARS do something so stupid like that. i'm scared of giving my phone number to a stranger, even if i've been speaking to him for a long time. if you can, try to get your money back and have him see you. you would be in a completly different country and if he really is a crazy psycho killer, you would have no where to run and hide.

You absolutely did! So you not ever listen to the news? I hope your friends and family get to see you again. Your one lucky person if they do! where is your head?

You might want to rethink your decision or take someone with you just in case.
