why can't these girls get married instead? so it's ok to have a boyfriend and have sex with him at that age, but it's wrong to get married young?

To the first question, neither is better. It isn't okay to have sex at 14 years old. It's wrong to get married at so young of an age because you aren't an adult yet ready for all the responsibilities that marriage brings with it. I've seen and know plenty of teenage girls that have had babies. Not a single one of them is self-supporting. Being able to take care of yourself is one of the criteria that distinguishes a child from an adult. It's easy to make a baby but it's a whole different ball game to be a self-sustaining family.

It's not really OK for a teenage girl or boy to have sex but I think it is far better then getting married. When you were 14 or 16 for that matter, were you capable of picking the right person to spend the rest of your life with. What if you had to marry everyone you ever fooled around with? People would end up in more abusive relationships. They would find out they married the wrong person just because they were a little too eager to get in there pants. My two cents.

Getting married wouldn't make sex safer for a 14-year-old young lady.

Her body is still developing and having sex at that age greatly increases her odds of miscarriage, death during labor and cervical cancer down the road.

It's not necessarily wrong to get married that young, but in most western nations today, someone of that age is not usually prepared to make a life-long commitment. They haven't usually spent any time outside of the parental environment to discover who they are as a person. They have also had limited experience in relationship, so they aren't in as good a position to pick the best mate.

It's true that some young people take risks with their bodies and their lives. It's perfectly normal to want to have sex. But that doesn't make it the wisest or healthiest choice. And to encourage that by supporting earlier marriage would be endangering these girls by the risks I mentioned above, as well as detrimental to their development.

properly i'd truly say neither, 14 365 days olds ought to not be having sex!! yet because you reported not say neither i am going to assert that i don't believe a 14 365 days previous is everywhere close to previous adequate to be married. At 14 you at the instant are not mature and are not the man you'll boost as a lot as be, you'll replace plenty. i don't believe of a wedding ceremony beginning at 14 may have a lot danger. Now I even ought to assert that when you're 14 or everywhere close to that age and are or are considering replacing into sexually lively you fairly ought to communicate over along with your dad and mom. There are belongings you want to understand. for sure there is being pregnant, which at 14 your ideas and body at the instant are not waiting for, yet there are worse issues to boot. you should get a spread of ailment, some deadly. in case you may have sex please please be careful.

Neither is better...The 14 year old should be worried about keeping her legs closed, having 14 yr old fun, gossiping about boys, going to school, hanging at the mall, having sleepovers...

For the life of me, I still can't understand why there are SO many kids who think that sex at that age is normal. Whatever happened to BEING kids instead of making them????????

Neither. They should wait for quite a few years yet. No one can give themselves properly in marriage and in the marital embrace who has not first come to know themselves. Ditto for being a mother. A mother needs to have all of that selfish time out of the way before she has a child. The child or children must then come first in her life second only to God and her husband.

neither is okay....14 is too young to be having sex in this society...they aren't ready for it. But, I'd rather they just have sex (with people their own age) than enter into a life long commitment at such a young age.

In western culture, both are too young. But not by much for the sex part. Marriage is a longer commitment, so she should be older.

How about they keep it in their pants and wait until they're old enough to understand the consequences of sex. 14 year olds having sex? What's next, 12 year olds drinking and driving?

It would be better if she got an education and stop that foolishness. She will run the risk of an STD or pregnancy. And that is the beginnig of a life of hardship and misery that she is ill prepared to deal with.Be smart.Stay in school and enjoy your life with your friends and family.
