most pick the safe bet; the artists that the commoners are taught to view as great. We don't want the public seeing anything that might cause them to think.
The artists that everyone should list are Courbet and Goya, because without them we'd still be looking at religious and political scenes paid for by the same. How do you know when Art is bland? When government funded galleries promote it. Support small galleries!
