Probably not. Not in the US anyway. The war on drugs seems to be getting more intense and more strict every day.

It used to be legal but probably never will be again. At one time cocaine was the preferred anisthetic for oral and occular surgery. It has wonderful properties for these procedures. It was the only topical anisthetic available at the time and it is also a vasoconstrictor which means it helped control bleeding at the sight of surgery. However cocaine has other problems which are not cundusive to health. Actually Novocaineand that series of drugs are based on the chemical structure of cocaine and are in effect artificial cocaine that has been produced to have the needed properties of cocaine while getting rid of the harmful ones. Cocaine is still used medically occasionally, in cases of sever nosebleed that cannot be stopoped any other way, cocaine may be applied to the nasal membranes to stop the bleeding.

Quite simply, when people can learn self-control.
If we feel down and need a boost, grabbing a can of Pepsi, downing a cheesecake or playing playstation can give us a bit of a breether. There isn't much wrong with this, but if we don't exhibit control obsession and addiction raises it's ugly head.
Cocaine is a bit different as along with the typical "that's good, I like feeling good, I want to feel good all the time" addicition, there is the chemical addiction which isn't quite as easy to shake.
If we could keep a bit in the fridge to take on those awful days to take the edge off, well what would be the harm?
The fact is, we can't control ourselves and before you know it we would have a $5,000 a day habit and selling our babies for a hit.
Then there is the organised crime side of things. People like feeling so good that we will do anything to acheive it. Lots of cocaine users will kill or steal, things we all know are fundamentally wrong, but the control isn't there.
So to conclude this answer, really we'll never be responsible enough to legalise such a dangerous drug because typically, human beings do not possess the responsibility required.

Bl**dy hope not!! If it was it would be the end of the world as we know it. It destroys your brain and someone I used to know is in a psychiatric unit as a result of regular use now, so be warned. By the time my children are teenagers I want all drugs to be a thing of the past but I know that's wishful thinking.

If the UK Govemnent could find a way to tax it then yes.... However, the impact on making it legal is far greater than the profit made by tax....
In my opinion...

No. We cannot control it when it is illegal. It would be too difficult to regulate and control who is getting it and how much. Also What kind of field sobriety tests would there be.
