There isn't precedent for turning on a computer, but why do Christians do that? It's not in the Bible I just did a search on gateway.

Funny question.
Yeah it doesn't say they can do that, doesn't say they can't.
But then why do anything it doesn't say in the Bible.
I guess only a GOOD Christian can answer.

Christians use computers like evryone else. What difference does that make anyway? The precedents set in the Word of God are for our spiritual and physical betterment. I would say that ifm a computer is being used for work or general "unsinful" things, ther's nothing wrong with it, nor is there a precedent involved.

In the garden of eden, God said we could eat from any tree in the garden except one.

We had total freedom to eat anything we wanted and do anything we wanted except for one little thing. And that is what Satan focused on and tempted Eve to long for. She ignored all the other possibilities that God had given her and fixated on the one he had disallowed.

The bible gives us guidelines and principles for life. It doesn't spell out every last detail of life but gives us wisdom to make our own decisions and live our own life according to our consciences.

If you read the letter to the Galatians you will see that Christianity is not a "rulebook religion" - not a list of dos and don'ts. It is a relationship with God where we seek his guidance and wisdom to live lives that are pleasing to him.

There doesn't have to be a precedent. Where did you get that idea? God gave us some very specific instructions that are also general instructions. Just do what Christ said to do and you'll be fine.
