I baby-sit four days a week. I do not want to serve the children unhealthy lunches. What are some good meal ideas that they will enjoy but are also healthy?

Make a couple of pb&Jelly or meat sands and cut the crusts off then divide them into 4 sections. In the center of the table place them, a few bowls with things like peanuts, raw carrots, raw brocoli, cheeses, etc. Then give the kids some cookie cutters and paper plates. Have then cut shapes out of the sandwiches and decorate them with the other ingrediants.......they will eat the veges and sandwiches and have a lot of fun too.

you can usually get kids to eat a lot more if you allow them to help in the prep.

It might help to know the ages of the children. Avoid fats, unnecessary fillers, prepackaged food. Use fresh food whenever you can.

Black bean burritos are healthy and fun; you can teach the kids to make their own (pile them with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, whatever). Refried black beans are fat free, and have lots of fiber.

Pizza can be surprisingly healthy...if you make it yourself. Don't buy frozen pizzas. Instead get a loaf of French bread, split it lengthwise and top it with pizza sauce, cheese, veggies and a little meat (some browned Italian sausage or pepperoni).

Make healthy foods but make them fun. Scrambled eggs for breakfast with some food coloring makes it fun also having them help prepare snacks or meals makes it fun. "Ants" celery stalk with penut butter and a trail of raisins in the penut butter is healthy fun snack etc.

Well if you have a grill, burgers are always easy and fun. Grilled cheese with fries or fruit. Salads are fun if you make them cool. Lettuce with tangerines, nuts and rasins and white beans with salad dressing. Kids love foods that have a range of colors because it all equates to fun.
