My best friend is a guy, and I've been a little in love with him for years. He'll make some woman a great husband someday. BUT... We've made it clear from the get go that there won't ever be more than that. We're TOO close and know each other too well, in some ways. And the chance for ruining the wonderful friendship we have? No way. You have to be up front and completely honest. There's nothing wrong with having strong feelings for your best friend, or even saying so, but to try to hide them or avoid them will just breed resentments. Been working for my friend and I for 13 years now. Good luck.

My bestfriend and I have known each other for about 12yrs now, he is a dude and out of our 12yr friendship we have been together 2 times. Now I love this man with all my heart.. he is 10yrs older than me... he meet me at the lowest state in my life and did nothing but befriend me............ for our sexual relationship didn't take place until 9yrs later!

I can say that although we have never been in a relationship we both care VERY much for each other... I WILL cut someone for him... all jokes aside, I will ride for that man! He means a lot to me... and I think we are closer now than we have ever been.

There is always a chance that you could fall for him... why not, hes a good friend, great companions, you go out together, party together, eat together... he is a friend... And a friend is what we ultimately seek in life right? ? Whether that friend is our husband/wife/lover/companion.... we all need the friendship.

however, I do not suggest you playing a game... if you are trying to befriend him just to actually get him.. then that is not the best course of action.... now if you actually value and want his friendship.. Then why not........

For most of my life, I've preferred the company of men; didn't enjoy the catty, competitive gal pals that were only out for one thing! So, I think I understand the male perspective on multiple levels; It's great to have guy friends and some of them were actually friends with benefits(you know what that means); however, you always risk falling in love and unfortunately it can be one sided and you may come away with a broken heart AND a lost friend; but "buck up" and take it like a woman! Just enjoy and be YOU!!!

I think having a male bestfriend is good, because then you get a guys honest opinion. If you DO fall for him at least you guys have the foundation of friendship to build your relationship on.

Well . . missy . . it makes no difference . . .at all . . although most GUYS do think that having gals as best friends "THEY CAN HAVE SEX" . . . but its not always the case . . .

The possibility of falling for him is TRUE though . . .

Because most relationships fail because both indivduals "FAIL" to understand each other . . . now in your case you have a guy whos your BEST FRND . . .and he understands you and supports you when you need it . . .

Most women look for a friend in they husbands . . . But you have a friend in fact a BEST FRND . . so i dont think that anyone else would understand you better than he actually DOES "NO OTHER MALES" that is . .

And if your thinking . . . NAH it cant be . . . "ANALYSE it yourself" you will find the truth . .

Well, the best relationships come from lasting friendships, actually.
But either way, I think it's DEFINITELY wise to have a male best friend. It's been my experience that my better friends ARE male, and THEIR better friends happen to be female. I think it has something to do with being able to provide a different point of view whenever it's necessary, and there's rarely any competition involved.

Men and women can never have any close relationships like best friends (unless one of them is really ugly or fat). The chance of a relationship starting is too great. Remember if you put boy rats and girl rats in the same cage don't complain about all of the little rats to come.

CHeck out the following website. It can answer your questions better than I can. It also can give you a bird's eye view of a guy's psyche.

well, if you put it as male BESTfriend, it means you have known him for a good while to call him that.

falling for the best friends are like, a common situation and it all depends on your status. who knows? he might be feeling the same way as well.

i'd say yes, for the sake of having friends. just be confident that it can be handled well.

Its always good to have guy friends. Granted you may fall for them, but hopefully your relationship will last through that. If you have guy friends, you can see the other side of matters that you wouldn't ask you surrent bf or husband. It doesn't matter is your married, or dating, or single, its always good to have them. And on the off chance that they want to go farther, think avbout it carefully, because most likely when u breakup, you won't have that friend anymore.

I had close male friends they were great. You could tell them a secret and they wouldn't blab to everyone like the girls do. Girls just can't keep a secret. Alot of them however did want to move on to other things, but I had a boyfriend. Some could accept it others couldn't. It's tough. You don't want to hurt your friend, but if they are a real friend they would understand.
