If God is calling you to the ministry no matter what choices you've made for your own life they will fall through and doors leading to your calling will be opened.

You can be sure of the calling of God when it's not something that you are seeking or making happen on your own. If God wants you to do something He will find a way to get you doing just that.

The "calling" that is placed on us is sometimes a difficult one to figure out. My calling occurred when I was a child. I knew from a young age that I was going to be in ministry of some sort. The great thing about ministry, if you are called to it, is you always are at peace with your place. I'm not saying there won't be hard times, because there will be. There are times when the only thing you have to keep you in your position is your calling. It's not something to be taken lightly. God will make it clear to you as you follow His plans for you. Commit yourself to prayer about your calling. If you are at peace about it, go for it with everything you have. Volunteer in the church and see what that does for you. God will show you. You just have to be willing to listen and to obey.

Well, God calls all Christians to "ministry" -- some of us formally (as a career), others of us as laypersons.

Anything a Christian does with their gifts (as well as "normal" things) is a worship offering to God and a potential minstering to other people.

If you mean formal ministry, well, that's a question people have to struggle with. Some people I know found themselves in situations where they felt as if God was "urging" them to take a certain direction, and they chose to listen... because they knew the little voice would keep talking, telling them things were not right, until they did.

Some people just plunge into it without feeling any specific direction. Sometimes they stick with it, sometimes they discover later they should have done something else.

I would pray (and have others pray) that you would hear whatever God is trying to say, that he would help you see clearly.

Ask advice from older Christians in and out of ministry, see what their experiences were.

Use your mind to get a clear assessment of the possibilities and ramifications of your decision. Sometimes God calls us to do things that don't see to be of particular benefit at the time, or asks us to take risks, so you can't rely exclusively on logic. But it is still a tool that is useful.

Ask God to use you where you are at, and help you meet the right people in order to minister best to others.

As far as the "voice" goes, when I have experienced it, it's like a deep-seated urge to do or say something that I did not expect to do/say. It is similar to anxiety in some ways -- my mouth goes dry, I get jittery, my heart races -- but it's not like normal anxiety, in that it seems to come from much deeper within myself, and it comes with conviction that I need to do what I'm being asked to do... it's the "right thing" to do, even if I don't understand why.

(And if I don't do it, I won't feel contempt for myself... but I will experience sadness that I missed an opportunity and did not have the courage to proceed. This last bit is what clinches it as God and not myself -- He does not condemn, but he is sad that I did not choose to participate in what he wanted to do.)

One thing you can be assured: YHVH is not calling a female into the ministry. He clearly forbids women having authority over men in the church. What’s more, He even forbids them from speaking in the assembly. That so many woman are in the “ministry” or wanting in it, shows the depth of their deception, the blatant disregard for the authority of the Scripture and the pride of their heart. The fact that they are welcomed by most denominations shows the depth of the apostasy of the church. What’s next; gay ministers? ….. Opps, I forgot.

I know what God wants me to do because people who have prayed over me have given me words and pictures to tell me. I am still waiting for His leading into this ministry but I have learnt that these things happen in His time, not mine. Keep praying that if you are following the right path He will keep leading you that way, but that if you are headed the wrong way, He will close all doors in that direction.

You will know I have always said that I would love to work full time ministry and be a pastor. Now my church have Pastoral training ministry which I'm now and and the Pastor in charge said that he feels it will be a good fit, and He eventually will have me run Sunday night services. It will fall in to place

Subjective confirmations: feelings, attitudes, sense of calling, desire to be in ministry, love for the Lord, desire to do nothing else with your life but serve the Lord, willingness to suffer for the sake of Christ

Objective confirmations: other mature believers recognize God's calling in your life (ask them); you are gifted with ministry gifts (try them out in your local church); God provides opportunities and open doors for ministry (pursue it and see what happens).

When the subjective and objective confirmations are there for you, then go for it.

If there is a God he is everywhere.

I personally believe that you don't need to go anywhere to find God as he is inside each and every one of us.

I would strongly urge you to look inside yourself, before you start looking elsewhere.

The journey is arduous enough without being forced by outside opinions, use your instinct and gut feelings.

Trust no words both spoken or in script, trust only your own experiences.

God calls no one to ministry people assume God wants them to preach the bible, but its only because THEY want to not because God told them to

Well you dont think about it, you just have a 'gut' feeling that everything about it seems right! And all the signs along the way assist and support the decision
