Here is my concern. Yes I looked at your link beforehand and it did, of course, address the issue but only in principle. Islam does, absolutely, breed violence. The truth is very self evident. The problem is not with Islam, really, but with human nature. The history of Christianity is really no different, they both share a very very violent history of "forced conversion" the only difference being that Christianity had an 800 year head start so the world has mostly forgotten the horrors of its past expansionist period.

There are just as many passages in the Christian bible as there are in the Qur'an that can be used to promote violent conquest and both religions have used them endlessly. Therein lies the real problem with Islam. Any time generations of people are raised in a "faith based" world they are taught to have "blind faith". Any time you have large numbers of peoples conditioned in this manner you have an easy target for evil men to use these faithful people for bad purposes. It has been a theme of human history. Religion used as a tool to control masses of peoples by small groups of men for less than noble reasons.

So the problem with Islam is the same as with any other faith based society .. namely the problem is people living life by faith and not by reason.

Islam is just the one currently being used in the most violent manner.

Yesterday I read in al jazeera (pardon my spelling), that islamic militants shot 2 people just for watching the world cup soccer game.

one of them was just a little girl only about 12 years old.

and there is NO OUTCRY from the moderate muslims. THAT is what is wrong with Islam.
