Me personally, the attack on evolution is why I left Christianity, and saught out the truth of God, and of course, the truth for me is there is no God.

So just wondering, when people attack evolution, has that worked, has anyone said, my gosh, your right! Genesis has it explained here so much better than all this fossil evidence, I'm going to sign up with Jesus today!@

Ignorance is bliss. I think intelligent design really hurt Christianity. Promoting ignorance and living in ignorance are two totally different things.

What Churches and what Christian denomination have you been talking too? I find this so absolutely absurd. Every Christian I know...(WHICH IS ALOT!) completely believes in both. Maybe instead of turning away from God because a couple people said the earth was made in exactly 6 days, or exactly 144 hours, or exactly 8640 minutes, you should find a new Church. Evolution evolved through creation. Gods days where not the same 24 hour cycle as in the 21st century. There couldn't even be true time until the 4th day, when he created the moon & the stars...LOL If your junk science is so amazing, how come I see a different theory of the dinos every week on the Discovery Channel. There is still mega controversy how they died. Some say asteroid, some say volcanic eruption, some say just plain old evolution. So can you tell ME EXACTLY how it happened?

Perhaps you are missing a couple of important points here. First off, evolution is a theory, not a fact, contrary to what many zealous scientists would have you believe. Second, the most cursory research into the world of science today is showing that researchers are beginning to realize that the evolution theory is flawed and actual evidence points more and more to a creationist theory of the origin of the world. Scientists are still not willing to embrace that as fact--as the most reputable admit that evolution is also a THEORY--but the pendulem is swinging in that direction.

As for whether or not God exists: He does, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. Throughout scripture, there are two themes: the love and grace of God, and the holiness and justice of God. One can not be compromised for the other. The Bible says that God's grace draws us to Him (Eph. 2:8-9), and that God is "perfect goodness" and cannot coexist with sin.

The Bible also says that when a person reaches a certain point of rebellion or unbelief, He will give them over to their sin and they will not be able to change their minds. (Read Romans, chapter 1.) I know there are people who have reached that point who are alive today. With incredible grief and sadness, He will give them over to their perverseness.

What does this have to do with evolution? When you take the Creator out of the human equation, you are left with only spiritual darkness. God really DOES love you, and He wants a relationship with you. I pray you don't keep turning Him away until it's too late.

I don't think it has either, and, quite frankly, I think it will ultimately be dangerous for Christianity. Evolution is self-evident even to those of us without advanced paleontology or genetics degrees, just by the most cursory glance at the fossil record. Those who insist that evolution did not happen will, in the end, loose people to their cause. And it will lead to a rejection of Christianity as a whole if those Christians who deny evolution are seen to speak for the Christian position on evolution. The frightening bit is that those who deny evolution will, in the short term, gain power and dictate school curriculam for the rest of us (as happened in Kansas), thereby putting American children even farther behind the rest of the world academically.

My understanding is there are Christians out there who also accept the truth of evolution. These Christians need to speak up and bring the faith back into the reasonable mainstream.

Not by the weight of Genesis alone but by the overall context of the Word - YES! A good many have come to realize and believe in the creation science.

Dr, Carl Baugh was a devout evolution scientist until he found flaws in the evolution concepts. Upon closer examination of the fossil recored compared with science - he discovered the earth was formed quite sudden..., I mean whether six days or six thousand years - that is a rapid sudden thing.

But hey - if Satan lives in your heart now (as he evidently does), he has your eyes blinded to the truth and you will never see it nor acknowledge it. Satan tempts men away from the truth and they only fall away because of the desires and lusts of their hearts.

You're a bit off in that "Genesis Vs. the evidence" thing. Creationists use the same evidence evolutionists and other long-agers use, but that evidence must be interpretted. No one just digs something up that says exactly what it is. It isn't "Genesis Vs. The evidence", "Genesis Vs. Science", anything like that. In reality it is "Creation Vs. Evolution" (the foundations for 2 opposing beliefs) and "Christianity Vs. Humanism" (the 2 opposing beliefs).

And yes, there are many people who came to Christ with the help of creation teaching. For some (I'm one of them) the "undeniable evidence for evolution" just seems absolutely right until they learn that there is another way that makes just as much (if not more) sense then evolution.

I'm so sorry for you, that you are trying to leave Christ. He wants you and won't ever leave you. I'll be praying that you return to Him.

You have to learn that God and religion are two separate things.
You can believe in God even if you hate organized religions.
It just won't be based on bible stories.
I think god created evolution one doesn't exclude the other.
I don't see how an illogical argument on evolution will convert someone to Jesus.
If you value logic over anecdotes you go with evolution.
If you're already a Christian you aren't allowed to use logic so creationism will be your mandated opinion.
I tried atheism for a while but couldn't make it fit in my life.
I was just rebelling against organized religions not God.

No of course not.
After all, the attacks on the Science of Evolution by christians comes from a positon of ignorance. Pure and simple. They don't understand even the basics of biology, they say the most inane and ignorant things (my favorite is "Evolution is only a theory!" LOL as if they know what the word 'theory' even means)
So all they do is make themselves look even more foolish and ignorant than they already do.
No mean feat for people who worship what amounts to a leprechaun...

Personally, I don't think an attack on evolution wins a convert to Jesus just like an attack on Christianity doesn't win a convert to atheism.

Yes, I am 100% sure that it has. Organized religions have for years taken advantage of fear and ignorance for gain. As long as God exists in human minds, someone will make a buck off of the concept while burying reality. It's not difficult to take advantage of the masses - just invoke God's name (whatever name you choose based on the ignorant faith you want to steal from) do a little homework in that faith, and twist the scriptures or laws or prophetic nonsense to fit your needs, and - if your smart enough and smooth enough - you'll have that Rolls Royce in no time. Oh, and you'll you'll have people giving up evaluation, believing in Noah and the Ark, and eating fish on Fridays. How ridiculous is that?

Yes, just this year at my school (Baptist), we had a former evolutionist professor speak in two assemblies. He had not only realized how unfounded most of the 'evidence' of evolution is, but also read studies from pantheontologists around the country. These studies, originally intended to prove the Bible wrong, ended up finding proof of Biblical happenings, like Hittite and Assyrian pottery in specific countries (where the Bible describes them), and chariot wheels at the bottom of the Red Sea... leftovers from the Hebrew flight from Egypt.

I wish, wish, WISH I could remember his name... I could direct you to his website, even. Dang. Anyway, there are many former evolutionists that have broken through the vague 'proofs' that Darwin's theories offer... you might have to look harder than usual to find them, as most creationists are silenced and scorned by their more-popular evolutionist counterparts. <=)
