I agree. You definitely don't need a friend like that. Gifts and money are not what friendship is about. Sharing is though, and you are simply trying to espouse this value. To answer the question though, I would give her a fake itinerary of your alleged (nothing is proven until it's on film) rendezvous. It is free to make, negates the need to ever buy her anything again as you won't be caught, and gives her something to do since she clearly has far too much time on her hands which she is currently using to catch you.

Cheap? or inexpensive?
You can get "cheap" stuff by the truck load at the General Dollar store; or the Dollar Tree.
A beautiful inexpensive and meaningful caring gift would be a poem, or verses written by you, and framed in a great frame (you can get a cheap frame at the stores above).
Or wash his vehicle, and detail it inside and out. The Advance Auto parts had "Engine Cleaner" in a spray can.
Or prepare for him a nice Meatloaf and Mashed potatoes dinner (Men LOVE meatloaf).
Think of things he likes, and take him on a pic-nic with cheeses and good wine.
There are many great things to do, if you think about what HE likes.

Try making him a gift basket. Do you or someone near you have an old Easter Egg Basket? Take the Basket, go to the Dollar Store and pick out 10:00 dollars worth of Guy things. Now put your sexiest panties or thongs in the basket. He'll forget about the cheap basket, by saying "It's the thought that counts," and day dream about your suggestive panties.

maybe you could make a special evening for him.
make a nice dinner, have his friends over and ask them to bring a dish then you won't have to buy much.
let the get together be the gift.
maybe do a theme like a cowboy cookout, or an italian style dinner, mexican is always fun and you can seldom go wrong.
get other people to help out with the food, because that is the biggest expense.
you can go to a local party store and get decorations really cheap.

What budget are you working with?
If you dont have any money, just spend the day with him, and if you have just enough money to buy him a small gift, then buy him something that he would appreciate, like a CD or DVD or something and explain to him thats the best you could do.
Dont be put off by the other people who are calling you names and saying that you are a bad girlfriend, if you dont have money to buy an expensive thing then so be it, dont create debt just to impress someone.

buy a plain wooden frame from hobby lobby or somewhere like that. do a collage with pictures of you and him or just you on the frame. paint a layer of elmers glue over it to give it a glossy smooth finish.
