I am going to NJ to visit a guy, but everybody keeps telling me why isn't he coming to Florida. Am I making a huge mistake?
I kinda bought the ticket... I leave Friday at 7:40pm. I am staying at my uncle's house in the Bronx. I have seen pictures, we do talk on the phone, and he's sent me letters. Just today I received a letter and a CD full of romantic songs. I'm so confused.

Who should go visit who? Should the guy visit the girl? Is it ok if the girl visits the guy? Is this a bad decision I'm making?

Do what suits you. There are a lot of miserable people trying to give advice and they are alone for a reason. I drove 5 hours to CT to meet a man I met on line. My friends/family didn't question me because I am and have always been my own person. It wasn't worth the trip, but that's another story. For the people that said he could be crazy, hell I've met my share of crazies in person. You never know the deal about anyone unless you spend some time with them. I think some missed that you will be staying at your uncles...Do what makes you happy.

As long as your being careful, I say go for it.
Your staying with your uncle and your family and friends know where your going and who your going to meet, make sure they have a copy of his address and a picture of him. And make sure your uncle meets him when he comes to pick u up, that's just to make u feel a little easier about the whole thing, it seems like your unsure because of what everyone is telling you but if this is something that you really want to do then do it!
If you leave them the necessary info on this guy then they shouldn't have anything else to say about it. Go and have fun and always be safe and careful!
Everyone can't live your life for you, I know they mean well and they just want you to be careful and u will be so let us know how everything went, when u get back.

I personally think its a bad idea!!!!
Do you know how many sick bastards there are in the world for all you know you could be meeting some sick old bastard that wants nothing more than to screw you or cause harm to you.
But since you are not going to listen to anyone on here and you are going to go anyways. You need to find a crowded area to meet this person. Just in-case.
If this person does not show than i would not be driving strait home cause this sick"o" could be following you. Yada yada.
Just be smart about it! If it is everything you hoped for than all the power to you and i hope everything works out well.

I really don't think it matters who does the traveling. I met a few women online and they all came to visit me, I guess it's easier for the woman to leave the guy then it would be to get rid of a guy.

I met my guy online, and I went to visit him first, now we've got his trip planned to come visit me. It's a give and take to make a relationship work, so do what works best for you both. Good luck.

ya met my now fianc'e online shes from Ky thats how i met my gf from online then we set up a date to meet and things worked out great
