I have 2 photos from a low-end photoshoot taken with a digital camera. Can anyone transform either one of these photos into quality looking images in photoshop cs? PLEASE list the steps you took so I can learn. THANKS!

I'm not looking to increase the resolution of the photo. I'm just looking for someone to use filters and effects or whatever method to turn these dull images into. There are ways to brighten the image and make the colors richer, without washing out the skin tones... and make the background whiter.

Please take this with a grain of salt:

The first step starts with the content and subject of the photos themselves.

Check model make-up (Lose the glitter. Don't overdo make-up. Instead, enhance natural beauty and define natural traits).

Lose the "I'm lickin' my lips" look and the not-so-subtle "I'm flashin' my rack" look. They're both played out.

Check the setting (lose the white sheet with the red stains on it! YUCK! Go to a public park, or a cafe or something. You can use depth of field to separate your model from the background - whether that be other people, plants, buildings, etc).

Select a more natural pose for your models. They aren't mannequins in a department store window, nor are they professional models. Looking like a porn star is one thing, looking sexy is another!

Check lighting (poor lighting in both shots). Get an external light meter, learn to use it.

Avoid overly distracting things: unless you're shooting fashion photography (i.e., overstated clothing or jewelry -unless that's your subject). Whitebalance the camera, if possible.

After all that, you can use software like Photoshop CS2 to clean up your shots.

You have some decent concepts and you're trying to sort it all out. That's apparent. Experimenting is the first step. Once you've managed that, you can start to develop your own style and hone your skills.

The key to shooting a photo is observation. Remember that photography is recording light. You are either duplicating what you see, or are elaborating on it.

Keep trying! Don't give up.

Although I've done a lot with CS, and wth photo editing, this type of editing is done more by professionals.

May i suggest you hop over to www.worth1000.com and study the tutorials, and ask in the photoshop forum for the information you seek. There are many professionals there, and all I've learned came from there. You can even sponsor a contest using your own photos and select the best one from any who enter!
