Say i had a good start, but didnt know how to act at the time (now i am much more enlightened). eventually i decreased the attraction level to the point where friendship was the only option.. so i told her not to call me. so why did she txt me asking how i was doing and say "i guess i'll see you when i see you"? btw i dont live in the same town anymore, but still relatively close

it is funny that women all give the same answer in different ways. What the common underlying statement is that she wants to be with you... for now. Wants something she cant have.
What I have done is reverse-psychology. It works. In this case get clingy. call her often and dont really say anything but just call. (there is nothing more annoying than being on the phone and not talking) dont breathe heavy, but just say the stupid stuff like ... hi... what are you doing? make her want to get distance from you.

Women/girls have been taught from a very early age "that they are not complete without a man in there in life". Self esteem and lack of ego play a very big part in why girls/women go after men that are just not available to them, emotionally or physically.
