That depends on what you mean by making out. If your talking about holding hands, hugging an occasional kiss I think that would be normal at that age of discovery. If your talking about passionate kissing, groping for body parts, dry humping then you have a big problem. I have been in and out of love enough to know I had no idea what love was at 14 and sex for the sake of sex is never an answer but rather a precursor to a life of restrictions. Do you think a girl is mature enough to be a mother at 15? The natural conclusion to making out is sex or there is no point to the beginning.

I think so. Most people receive their first kiss before or around that age and I don't think that is so horrible but to be "making out".... I think I would have a heart attack if mine did. I have a cousin who at the age of 14 became a father. He is now 30 and his daughter is 16. It makes for a hard life and I think I would do everything to discourage the behavior. Although, it's pretty tough to go back once you've started making out. Especially at that age. Good luck!

I'm 14 and I know kids well actually some of my friends my age that are no longer virgins. Sad, but true life is changing rapidly. I kinda think it's wrong, but maybe a little kiss or something is okay. If you caught the kid tell him or her to ease off of the idea for a while until they are an appropriate age.

This is a question that you should answer on your own. You are the parent. If you are uncomfortable with your child making out at 14, you need to tell him/her and set some rules. It is really your decision as the parent. Don't let others influence your household.

It could lead to other things. I am just saying from experiences. My now husband was 3 years older than me. I was 14 when we started dating and I 1st had sex with him at 16. Just try to know that your child is not innocent. My parents had no idea.

i don't know you or your child so it's hard to say. because all 14 yr olds mature at different paces. but in general, i'd say kissing and cuddling, i spose that could be ok, anything else is just wrong. far too young! oh and the other person has to be the same age for it to be remotely acceptable.

No. some parents in your position are scared when their child is still shy at 14. making out is healthy. and if youre afraid he/she will have sex. the best thing you can do for your relationship with your daughter is to embarrass her with a talk about using protection :)

Do you really need to ask? First of all, if the guy is 16 or older, it's statutory rape. She may end up pregnant (don't assume it ends at the necking stage), and that could end her chances at a good future. If she kept the baby, she'd be 32 before she would no longer be responsible for it.
