There is no limit for age. The martial arts open up new door ways for people no matter their age. As for college aged people...I am in college with fifteen credit semesters, I work at a restaraunt, and train in my martial art five classes a week (and still have time left over). So yeah, I sure a college person can do that without the need of special classes. Unless you are training to be a fighter, that requires more time and dedication for the conditioning aspect of it.

Ever too old? -Absolutely not.
Although some dojos may not be as suitable as others.
Take for instance this approach:
An "older person" may not really be interested in the sports
side of the martial arts, but instead, in the self defense, and getting in shape aspects...
So this person should find a dojo, that is more fitted to that focus..
That person may find a more traditional dojo, that is open to all ages and conditions may fit the bill nicely.
Special Classes?
For college age?
Not sure what you mean, but college age is a fine age to really dig into the arts. You should be in about as good a shape as youre ever going to be, (when it comes to being full-sized, and still pretty flexible, etc). Plus by now, your focus should be sharp enough to give the Martial Arts the dedication it deserves.
A good foundation to build on. Go for it.

Never too old, if your 75 you could start learning.
How fast your advance is another story.
The main this is you advance.
Its great for innerself, health, and is a good fun hobby.
Most of the older people I see practicing, are doing it for health instead of self defense as most older people are smart enough to avoid a conflict with words. If your college level, just take the beginners class. Plain jane adult 1.
College level is never too late.
I started kick arts at age 20, Now I can do a 720 hook kick or cresent kick. Not that great, and I didnt push myself THAT hard. Im 23, it took 3 years for me to learn how to do it.
The age that your too old to take martial arts is the age that you give in, curl up, lay down and die.

Nobody is too old to learn some form of martial art. As long as a person is able to set their ego and prejudices aside and realize that the person or people teaching them may be younger than they are it is not a problem. A number of years ago, the grandmother of some of my students began taking classes from me. She enjoyed the exercise and was able to spend time with her grandchildren at the same time.

It depends on the type of martial arts, because some martial arts are very physical. In most martial arts there is a teen and adult class. In some martial arts there are even private classes.

As long as your body and mind are fit to learn a martial art. Age should not be factor for learning martial art.

The only point at which one wopuld be too old would be if one's doctor was advising against strenuous activity. Most good martial arts schools will seperate classes based on ability level and many will seperate based on age to promote comfort level. Call around to your local schools and ask what they have.

colleges usually have elective courses you can take as part of your schooling.. you are never to old to learn martial arts, you might be in a class with younger students, but don't let that disuade you. if you're adament about learning don't let anything stop you.. it's good for your health, good for your mental stability, and good discipline. i think everyone should learn martial arts.. there are great benefits to martial artistry...
good luck!

Some kids start as young as three and college students should just go to a dojo of the art of their choosing.
