Not neccessarily. I know I felt more love from my father growing up than my mother. My mother would say and do the most hateful things to me and my sister while shower my brothers with love and affection. My father on the other hand showered all of us with unconditional love.

I'm a mother and I must say that I don't agree that mothers love more than dad's do! Mothers love, and fathers love! The love that expressed by a father may be curbed a bit but that doesn't mean that it is any less! Our daughter moved out of the house a few months ago and my husband is not handling it as well as I have. He is angry with her and every single thing she does he has found fault in. It doesn't mean that what she is doing is wrong, it just means that he doesn't want her to grow up yet. She will be 21 this year and Daddy isn't ready. When she lived at home he was happy she was around. Not much contact but that fact that she was there was enough for him. She would be worried that he didn't love her, but when she was gone he was sad. He rarely said he loved her but when he did SHE KNEW IT! Men have a strict code that sometimes I believe is genetic! If they show too much love it scares them. If they don't show enough kids want more and Dads get nervous. Dads are men! showing emotion is something they may find to be a fault if it is over done. Don't believe for one moment that the love they feel for their children is less. It is probably more! Moms just express it better!

It would seem like Mom's always care or love more than Dads, but, Dads just show thier love in a different way! Mom's are caring, loving, gentle, kind and strict when needed. Dad's have to be strong and silent and can't show affectionate love because they feel it is not manly! Men do have feelings though and they love more when it counts! Mom's are better at the squishy stuff!

No moms just show it differently. My daughters and sons would probably say that dad loves them more. He always gets to do the fun stuff ( play in the yard, take them for ice -cream, always the first to want to watch TV or a Movie any time, play video games, ect..) while I always have to be the bad guy ( Clean your room, take a bath, look both ways, do your homework, ect...) At the same time when ever they have a problem or get hurt they always come to mom first. It all rolled up in the roles that we play as parents more than anything else.

Is this the age old male vs female ego problem? You use the word "always" and it cannot be true. There are great moms and great dads. Plz do not compare love. Is it some kind of scale like weight or height?

I think mother's love is supreme for reasons which are beyond the reach of dads. However dad's love is unique in its own way. I guess we cannot compare.

No they don't in my opinion. Just because you gave birth doesn't mean you love that child more than the dad. Just because they may buy their children clothes, feed them doesn't mean they love them more. Its our duty to do that. In some cases the dads actually take over the rearing of the child, therefore the child forms a stronger bond with the dad. Some dads are more involved with the activities of the child. The child will still miss the loving of the mom. I think sometimes a child's love for their mother can be stronger than the mother's love for the child.

I think today more mom's have to work and they are more involved in whats going on with their life. They tend to neglect their child as far as spending quality time with them.

As a mother of four I must say that, my husband and I both love the children unconditionally. Mothers are usually at the fore front when ever something goes down but that doesn't mean the dad loves any less. I am always aroound, my children call me 24/7 they usually call him when they want something they know I might no go for. Fathers are absent in a lot of cases causing the mother to work overtime, but when they are both there I think it is slightly different in favor of mothers but not much.

I think that a mother's love is at the start different from a fathers, because they had the privilege of having the baby grow inside them and nurture it with love. However I feel like that father's have so much pride in their children that once they are born they are on equal footing. It is up to the nature of a person how they are going to be. If there are two loving parents then the child is truly blessed.

With some moms it just comes naturally, you grow this person inside you for 9 months, that bond begins then. For dad's it's something that allow themselves to feel. Dad's offer a different perception, different expriences and a different sense of self, that's why they are so crucial. Their love isn't a matter of more or less, it's different, it comes from a different place and it teaches the child different lessons.

not necessarily. moms are usually more demostrative of their love though. dads belong to the male species ,the kind that were taught that expressing their feelings is a kind of weakness. moms show their love with hugs, kisses ,a good meal, stories, lullabies etc etc ,while dads show it by breaking their backs working so that you can have a wonderful life and in return you show it by asking whether a dad loves less than a mom
