have you changed it's diet?
Bring it to the vet. A small animal with the runs can become dehydrated very quickly.

Is it a small dog or a puppy?
Diarhea can be a symptom of just about anything--yes from Parvo but could also be just stress!
Look at other "things"......did you change his food? Did you give him table food of any sort? Did he steal human food? Did he get into some cat food? Could he have killed an animal while outside (like a bird or a mouse)? Did you recently bathe him? Was it with a different soap than usual? Have you given him any pill or topical flea preventative (these products have insectisides, he could be having a reaction to it)? Is he on heartworm preventative (these can also cause diarhea)?
Are there any other symptoms? Is he scratching at his hind-end? Are his eyes goopy? He's not caughing? No fever? Runny nose? He's playing fine? Eating normal? Urinating normal?
Diarhea really can be just about anything!!! What kind of dewormer did you give him? Some store-bought wormers aren't productive and, keep in mind, there are several kinds of worms out there and not all medications combat all of them. Is it possible you treated him for hook worm when he actually has a tape worm?
Try to find a mulit-dewormer and try to deworm him again. Even if he doesn't have worms, it won't hurt him to give him the medication. If you're absolutely positive there is absolutely nothing else wrong with him, give him a small dose of Pepto Bismal (follow the label for weight as if he were a child and give him just slightly less).
I say BE CAREFUL because Pepto will aggravate some conditions. If you are absolutely positively sure it is just diarhea, then go ahead. If there is any kind of blood in his stool or any other symptoms--even if you think they are irrelovent--it could be something more severe and you could do more harm with self-medicating.
Good luck!

You could give your puppy the same kind of meds you take for diarrhea going by the weight of your pet. Change in diet can cause this and sometimes change in water. Wormer will cause diarrhea but not that long. One other choice would have been omitting food for 12 hours at the onset of his diarrhea, but since he has had it this long he needs to see a vet. And he also needs another seven in one shot, should have had one at 8 weeks 12 weeks and once a year after.

For the next 2-3 days, or until his stool firms up, feed him nothing but boiled white rice and boiled ground beef. Do not add any seasonings or salt to the water. Whatever he's picked up, is causing an irritation in his digestive system, and he needs bland foods, and plenty of fresh water. A simple call to your vet, and they should tell you the same thing. There's not reason to bring him in unless this remedy doesn't work in 2-3 days. I'm a breeder, and this happens occasionally to one or another of my dogs, and this treatment was suggested by me vet, and works every time. When his stool starts to firm up, start mixing some of his food back in with the rice and beef, a little more every day, until he's back to his old self. Start today!

Sometimes small pets can have diarrhea when there is a change in diet, eating table food, garbage diving, internal parasites and stress. My suggestion ( like the geniuses before me stated) is to take him in for a fecal exam to check for parasites that your monthly dewormer won't get rid of. If anything, they will give him some subcutaneous fluids, antibiotics and something to help with discomfort. With your the vaccine history it could also be something viral (vaccines should be given @ 6,9,12,and 15 weeks during the first year, then once a year to boost).

Get your dog to a vet today!! Dogs are still considered "small" because their bodies are not as large as humans, ususally. They cannot go for long without dehydrating from the diarrhea. He probably has a virus and needs some relief. He is a little trooper for trying very hard to carry on as usual. When sickness goes on this long, you could move him from just a "bug" to a life threatening situation because this illness has continued to rob his system of needed nutrients and liquids. Again, please, go to the vet today. I know you care about your dog.

I give my puppies combo vaccines at 8, 12, and 16 weeks. He should have had 3 sets of shots. He is NOT protected AT ALL! IMO, a shot at 6 weeks does nothing but tax a puppies immune system when given so young, he should have still been with his dam.
Why did you give him wormer? Do you know he has worms by having a fecal test? If you do not know if worms are present, don't feed your dog poisons.

If he got his last shots when he was only 6 weeks old, he is way past due for another set of shots. Because of this, he could have any number of viruses, including parvo or distemper, both of which are very very serious. I recommend taking the dog to a veterinarian, or a low cost clinic ASAP. If you can't get him there immediately, try buying some acidophilis pills to sprinkle over his food. Please don't mess around with this though!

It sounds like a diet issue. If you are feeding him soft food, mix in dry. Never feed a dog the kind of food that is red, sure fire way to give them the runs. Take him to the vet if you notice any changes in weight or tempermant. Good luck. Dogs are resiliant, so I'm sure he'll be fine.

My boy, who is now 4 months old had some trouble too, spitting up, gas, constipation AND diarrhea. We ended up switching to a formula for sensitive stomachs (Similac Sensitive) Most expensive formula available but worth it. It's VERY important to make sure your baby doesn't get dehydrated, check for moist eyes, healthy cuticles etc...You can also check with your pediatrician about mixing a little non-flavored Pedialyte in his bottle for hydration. Good luck!

TAKE HIM TO THE VET! What is the matter with you people who refuse to take your sick animals to the vet. If you don't want to spend the money, you shouldn't have a pet!!!! These animals are totally dependent on you for their care so be responsible and take him to a vet or give him to someone who will take proper care of him.
