The vet's office probably does not open until 8 or 9 AM that would probably be as early as possible. If you go in before they are open the police may show up and not take kindly to you being there! I hope that helped!

Different vets will spay or neuter at different ages and some will spay or neuter at different weights (usually want them over 5 lbs). Some will suggest you wait until the animal is at least 6 months old but this is SOOO stupid. Your kitten could be having kittens herself by 12 weeks old!
You should have her spayed between 3 and 4 months (12 and 16 weeks).
And I think it's AWESOME you're considering have her surgically sterilized!!!

Depending on where you go it could be anywhere from 1 pound( Humane Society) to 6 months. Females come into their first heat at about 4-6 months and males are about the same. Now, if this your first kitten, you might want to take into consideration that females and males vocalize, a lot. Males will also start marking any vertical surface that can get to and females will sometimes leave spots of blood where they sit. So if you want some peace and quite without having to clean-up male urine or female spotting then you might consider a younger age.Good luck and congrats.

Vets will do it between 6 and 8 weeks....But most good Vets go by the kittens weight and age so not to pose too much a risk! Usually 5lbs is significant....

they can spay/neuter feral kittens as young as 8 weeks old, but if it's your kitten in your house, you can wait until he/she is about 4 months old. Don't wait much longer than that. A cat can start reproducing when it's 6 months old.
Thank you for fixing your kittie.

Our vet recommended to wait until they were 5 to 6 months old but they will do it earlier from what I've been told. Males testicles do not drop until about 5 months and they do not start spraying our procreating until that happens. It is safer for them with the anesthesia and surgery to be a bit older.
