because it's a very lucrative business. People make a lot of money not only selling the cigarettes and cigars, but then when you get cancer you get to give tons of money to the hospitals, pharmacies, Cancer Society, individual doctors, lobbyists, etc. Yeah, a lot of money to be made there. And they don't even cure you!! You pay to have poison injected into your veins to make you deathly ill, and your hair falls out and you have no energy at all. They Win!!!!

They don't want another "probhibition type" fiasco. People would still do it. The government doesn't allow marijuana use, but people still do it... plus they make a crap-load of money from it.

because it benefits the economy.. cigarrattes are expensive and are probably not sold on the black market.. you see how expensive cigs are now.. they wouldnt dare make it illegal.. mary j is illegal cause it sold on the black market
