I think the nearest rail station is Loughborough....hope you have a good time in my home town of Sheffield...beware of belowadvice in that both Lond Eaton and Loughborough are a good 10 miles and Nottingham and Derby nearer 15 - that's a fair whack in a taxi! There are buses to Long eaton and Loughborough stations which take about 20 min and National Express coaches have a direct service from EMA to Sheffield which takes about 1 hr - they only run every three hours however....

There is a bus you can catch to either Derby / Loughborough /Nottingham where you can then get a train to Sheffield. There has been plans to build a train station at the airport for years but it has not materialised yet. I think they have planning permission but always seems to be a hold up. So for now you will have to get a shuttle bus unless you want to pay a (taxi Approx £ 10 to £15) By the way don`t be fooled that Nottingham airport is near Nottingham Derby would be nearest for you. This is an annoyance to the local people as last year BMI who apparantly own the airport decided no-one would know where East Midlands airport was so changed the name to Nottingham but Derby is nearest.

No there is no train station at Nottingham East Midlands yet. The best thing to do is catch the Skylink bus from the airport, back into nottingham city centre, and from there it is less than 5 minutes to the train station where you can catch the central train service to sheffield.

The sky link runs almost 24 hours a day to and from the airport, and central trains to sheffield are also fairly regular.

I hope this helps

There is the Skylink Bus service to Nottingham Station and the AirLine Shuttle Bus from Derby or Loughborugh stations - both run every 30 mins and take 30-45 mins

The railway stations of Loughborough, Long Eaton, Nottingham and Derby are all located just a short bus or taxi ride from NEMA. These are all served by the main InterCity trains which are operated by Midland Mainline and Central Trains.
