MY METHOD
I wash my hair twice a day
1. Wash hair w/ brush
2. rub in Pink lotion
3. brush for 10-15 min(to make sure its set)
4. rub in s-curl 360 pomade
5. brush for 30min-1 hour
6. rub in Ice pomade
7. put on du-rag or wave cap
All of this is with SOFT or MEDIUM brushes. I very rarely use HARD brushes when my hair is short.

Question is have you had a sure? If so and it has grown out this is one reason why it is sticking up. The best way to get it to lay down, go to your stylist and ask them if they have any chopper scissors what they are is like a thinning scissor but the teeth are further apart. It will take out allot of the thickness, needs to cut at an angel not straight across, will make it lay down. A really good product to get if by a company named Roffler, I carry this product in my shop. The one that you need is called Fixative Creme. You can get online and find a dealer near you. This stuff is awesome!! It will hold the hair in place and smells like a man should smell. No sticky or glue feeling, no flaking just comb right through it. Good luck

My uncle had thick course hair so he had his hair cut lower and bought Makin Waves ( in the black can) and a good stiff brush and he used a wave scarf. When applying the hair grease wet the brush and brush in the directions of the wave pattern and put on the wave scarf. He had so many waves we became seasick.

You may need to have it relaxed. I do not advise doing this at home tho. With black hair, you have to have it relaxed in order for it to do what you want it to do. Women have it just a lil easier, as they can use a marcel iron to get the curls to be straighter. But they also have it relaxed. If you dont want to relax it, i suggest using cholesterol, you can find these in Sally's beauty supply. This will condition your hair extremely. That may also be where your problems lay. Black hair can never be overconditioned as it is dry in nature.

LMAO at the first guys answer-he 'uses' a product but he's too dumb to remember the name of the stuff he uses !!! What a dumbass!!
:-)) Real helpful -you want to keep your hair but dumbass here says shave it off. Anyway, my answer is use hair gel -any brand. Make sure your hair is slightly damp and then blow dry it with the gel in. It will stay down all day unless you get it wet!!

Jesus Brother its very course! for one if you want hair styles like that you have to get a hair perm/relaxer, then you have to condition your hair ALL THE TIME!!! this helps treat the hair and scalp to make it manageble. Also try a hair pomade made for treated hair (MEn Only Products) also try a a nice hair gel, not the clear type but the thick black type. it has all types of names e.g (Jam)

have it thinned out. its a type of hair cut. It may look a little shorter at first but when you get the hang of styling it yourself it will lay down.
