You don't put condioner on your scalp anyway, so even if there were irritants in the conditioner, you shouldn't have problems. Not washing your hair daily is a good thing also! I use Bumble and bumble Leave In Rinse Out after towel-drying my hair and it works great! It's a little expensive, but I only use a dime-size amount on my long hair so I'm not halfway through a bottle I bought in January.

I love leave-in conditioners. They keep my hair from being too frizzy and help moisturize my over-dyed locks! I don't think that chemicals from the conditioner will cause a problem with your scalp. Look for something that's lightweight. I really like the Dove leave-in conditioner, but as someone else pointed out, Aussie also works really well. I don't know what products are available in India, so just look for something that isn't oil-based and is lightweight! And hey, if you want me to send you some Dove, let me know. I'm horrible when it comes to pushing my favorite beauty products on other people - but I guess that's not such a bad hobby to have, right? ;)

I don't believe that leave in conditioners are bad for you. Especially if you wash your hair every day. However, I only use them (leave-in conditioners) when my hair is badly tangled (like after swimming) or damaged from bleaching. I don't get any benefit from using leave-in conditoner. Sometimes it leaves my hair a little frizzy. I don't think this happens for everyone. My Asian friends use leave-in conditioner and it's no problem for them, but I have long thick wavy hair. Here is a tip though, if you do use it. Spray it in your hair while your hair is still wet and comb it through. Be sure to spray the ends. I reccomend Aussie Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner because it has a little bit of tea tree oil in it.

It depends on what type or brand you use. Some are healthy and some are not. You should ask your stylist on advice on which leave in conditioners you use.
