In Karate it usualy takes 3-4 years.
A black belt rank just means that you have a good grasp on the basics and can move on to really learning harder styles, forms, combinations, and develope your own rythm.
A black belt does not mean you have mastered the art. You never master the art.

It should take about 3-5 years of consistent training to earn a black belt. Anyone who gives or earns a black belt in less than that you should really be skeptical about. A black belt, although a accomplishment, is by no means the end to training. In most arts, it is an indicator that a student is ready to move beyond the basics and learn the real art.

usually 2-3 years
but a black belt can disguise your true skills if you don't practice often

it depends how hard you work at it, if you really like it and you really do work at it, then you should get it in maybe 2 and 1/2 years (that isn't long really considering it take like forever just to get your green belt) but if you don't like it and you don't work at it then you won't get it for a very long time my friend! ask my little bro, he does karate.

It depends on the type of Martial Arts, your martial arts school, and you. In Tae Kwon Do it can take anywhere from 2-4 years to get your blackbelt.

Depends on the martial art, and the instructor. Generally speaking, the longer the better, though. Anyone promising you anything fast? Isn't a good thing.

It does not mater what belt you wearing. Your skills and ability to defend yourself is the most important.
