absolutely. Police in Vermont (maybe other places too) have a horrible track record -- even when they bring in a negotiation team (see below)

"said police decided to use a SWAT team and a hostage negotiation team to apprehend Fortunati because Fortunati had a gun, had threatened people, was mentally ill and was in a remote area. "

As long as they have the right home, doesn't sound like an execution to me. More like resisting arrest. I know a woman who is bitter about a proprietor shooting her liquor-store-robbing son in the back as he ran with the money. He should have considered that a logical risk when he decided to rob. Of course, he's obviously not a genius for choosing the path he did. Seems Darwin was right...

Woah..Let's get this straightened out here.. The cops had been staking out his residence for DAYS he was a drug dealer and they had been keeping tabs of who went in and out of there.. they raided his home at 1 a.m. shortly after the last person left there were NO police reports for burglaries filed, just friends that claimed he'd had stuff stolen and they pounded on his door and yelled "POLICE" he refused to come to the door, they had a warrant so they kicked the door in.. he had taken off running to his room, they chased him and when he reached in his his dresser drawer for his gun they shot him- get your story straight and don't post crap like this unless you know what you're talking about.

Without any more details than that, it is hard to say, and 'executed' is a very loaded term.
Police are supposed to have a warrent, supposed to announce themselves, and supposed to be wearing identifying clothing.
If the kid had a gun and pointed it at them, then they had the right to protect themselves. If not, they are in serious trouble. It is called, at least, excessive use of lethal force, and at most, murder.

No, high risk warrants are best done at night or when there is a chance of surprise. They do this for the best chance to catch the person before they can destroy evidence or get to a weapon.

The cops didnt execute anybody - get your facts straight. If he got shot, he deserved it. If the police gotta chase ya, they are bringing a butt kicking with them.
