There is nothing wrong with wanting to stay home and properly train a new addition to the family. I am glad to hear that the land lord said yes to the puppy however it does make me wonder the reason why the landlord said no to your other dog. Even though you love your first dog don't feel bad about spending some time with the new puppy. Just make sure to make the time to go and visit and play with your other dog so that he/she does not feel left out. Another suggestion is that when you go go a few times without the puppy and then later start taking the puppy and introducing them to each other. Before long and with a little luck both will become great play mates and you will be able to enjoy both of their company to the best possible way to the situation.

Are you sure your landlord will not create a fuss when your little puppy is no longer a puppy? As he seems to be having problem with a dog to begin with.
IBut if he is ok with the old dog then you can bring him too, though depends where does your old dog prefers, your place or your grandma, more precisely which place its better for him, more open where does can play and roam around.

Of course. Stay home and take care of the new puppy, but still visit with you other dog frequently.

why would you want another dog when you already have one? plus the landlord wont let you have one, its not fare to the first dog, what if you have to give the puppy away after you get attached to it? i wouldnt want another one, its not fare to the dog or you.
